e choupal - an initiative by a indian conglomerate to bridge the gap between market and farmer.

a few days back, i had written on how middlemen exploits the farmers of india. if farmers had knowledge of the market scenario they can ripe lot's of benefits. they could earn more and this will stop young farmers who leave agriculture and aim to settle in cities. they forget the fact that people in cities dream to live their life in villages and the fact that ' being simple is extra-ordinary'. that's why rich people have farm houses.

here's a initiative by one of the indian… Continue

Save a girl child by Times of India.

i read this in a times of india today, i was really happy to see such a work being done a media house. they have this campaign in which well to do people adopt girl child of poor people..they are suppose to look after the welfare of the girl child. this is the perfect way to solve the issue of gender inequality. in India, it's a disgrace among poorer ma**** to have a girl child and hence they tend to stop accepting the girl as their child. in many cases the mother and daughter are both banished… Continue

my experience at evoke

it's been a week at evoke. i feel lucky to have found such a network where i can share my views on social innovation. i am pursuing computer science and a year back there was one question that i had...that was what will i love to develop using my knowledge of computer science if money was not involved in that activity? invariably answer came to giving back to society. somehow i forgot to develop on the urge. Now, a year later when i discovered this fantastic concept that urge has risen..now it… Continue

food security - learn2

i live in India. India is said to be the land of farmers. we have lot's of folk songs that praise the work of farmers. Unfortunately, this farmers are exploited by middle-mens. this is so because majority of farmers are illiterate. this situation has grave implications. one is youth is gradually losing interest in farming and their goal is now to migrate to city and take up some petty job.

Our servant has lot's of land in his hometown.. he can be prosperous if he has little knowledge… Continue

lessons from the movie/doc**entary INVICTUS

it was exhilarating to see how nelson mandela ( morgan freeman ) in the movie INVICTUS motivated the rugby team of South africa. They were underdogs for the tournament and went onto become the champions.

the movie shows that evoking the spirit of nationalism with positive influence can create wonders.

Now, here's my idea:

why don't we encourage socially underprivileged to take part in sports. Goverment selects best of the lot and provides them training. They are… Continue

My Secret code for social innovation - " Think like a child "

From the list of 33 secrets, i picked ' think like a child ' secret. i sincerely believe in this. ' think like a child ' means to think out of the box, think imaginatively/creatively. the phrase is not to be confused with think foolishly .

You might have noticed this, often spiritual leaders tell you that to be happy you need to behave/think like a child!! i believe to come up with innovative ideas we need to have peace of mind. our mind should be free from complex/incoherent thoughts… Continue

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
