Project on "BLOOD DIAMONDS" for students - get involved!

I work for an educational charity that runs an online learning community, called Rafi.ki (the Swahili word for friend) for schools around the world that helps students share ideas and work together for a brighter future. It is free for all non-UK schools to join - it contains communication tools and cross-curricular projects around global issues, and is safe and moderated.

We are currently running a project called "BLOOD DIAMONDS" where students learn… Continue

Where I see myself in March 2020

When Alchemy calls me in March 2020, shortly before I turn 37, I am living somewhere sunnier and warmer than London. I will have worked for a large international organisation such as the United Nations or Oxfam for a number of years, before setting up my own NGO or social enterprise that aims to educate young people in conflict-prone areas about finding creative solutions to local and global problems. I have a healthy and happy family and a large circle of friends from all walks of… Continue

I believe the most important secret of social innovation is to provide skills!

I believe the most important secret of social innovation is to provide skills!

"Provide skills, not just finished technologies.
The current revolution in design for developing countries is the notion

of co-creation, of teaching the skills necessary to create the solution,

rather than simply providing the solution. By involving the community

throughout the design process, you can help equip people to innovate

and contribute to the…

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
