I've been really thinking about this week's action part of the mission. Previously, I'd taken for granted the idea of water. I know it's absolutely crucial for life, and that there are major problems with the world not having access to clean water (wherever too many humans are, the water is polluted, by some kind of waste products of either industry or simple overpopulation of us animals). Garden Dome Done!
Thanks to the help of some creative Evoke agents, I finished my recycled hose experimental garden dome/trellis tonight.
It's, well... a lot smaller than I was hoping. It's less than 2 feet tall. And not very strong. So it's not going to be much support for the zucchini or cuc**bers, but it will help protect the seedlings while they are growing. And I can use it as a tomato cage for five tomato… Continue

All I ever needed to know I learned in Kindergarten (as a teacher!)

I need some brainstorming help - connecting hose bits together...
I've been wanting to build a small geodesic dome out of some trashpicked leaky hose. sunlight relocation
Most of what I do is already powered by renewable and sustainable resources. I even had my computer and lights hooked up to an 80 watt solar panel for a while (but housing problems and marital problems led to my solar panel, my controller, and me all being in different places at the moment, so that's not an option right now, but in the future solar will definitely be my main power source for the couple of electric-powered things I use).

2020 Summer Solstice celebration

Fourth of July on the Lake
This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore.
