US Says No to Indigenous Rights

From Global Research:

The US, the self-proclaimed protector of human rights, has failed to vote in favor of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of

Indigenous Peoples.

Speaking to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) at the UN, Kenneth Deer, the representative of US and Canada

Mohawk Indians, said that Washington had refrained from recognizing the

UN declaration on… Continue

Solar cell breakthrough achieves 90 percent efficiency at a fraction of the cost of current panels

From Natural News:

Scientists from the California Institute of Technology (CIT) have developed a new solar cell technology that they say absorbs up to 96

percent of "incident" light. Experimental tests revealed that the new

cells operate at around a 90 percent quantum efficiency rate. Because

they are made of plastic, they could significantly reduce the overall

cost of photovoltaic cells as… Continue

Understanding our history: The Chalice and the Blade

When people try to address the issue of gender equality, it is usually discussed from the perspective of giving women so-called "equal opportunity" to participate in the social, political and economic life of a country. However, this view is flawed in that it does not recognise the fundamental reason why we have such a gender equality, how it could be responsible for promoting and reinforcing intransigent social problems like poverty and crime, and how we can achieve a better… Continue

Europe's electricity could be all renewables by 2050

As the article pointed out, the only obstacle to total energy independence is the political and economic barriers that exist because of the money system. Without a money system, the world would be much closer to eradicating imagined boundaries between countries that separates common Humanity.

From The Independent:

Europe could meet all its…

Judge Invalidates Human Gene Patent

Judge Invalidates Human Gene Patent

How the hell can something as intrinsic to our survival be patented? Would we have to pay corporations to reproduce because we would be 'pirating' genes which they have patents on?

From: The New York Times:

"A federal judge on Monday struck down patents on two genes linked to breast and… Continue

Living Food

The food of the future will not be another way for corporations to make a profit while they get millions of young people addicted to low-cost and highly toxic junk food. Food will promote life in its highest form. That would only be possible in a Resource-based Economy (RBE) envisioned by The Venus Project which I describe here,… Continue

Hunger in a Corporate-Nation

I would describe Singapore as a "Corporate-Nation". Our culture is geared for results, meaning economic growth, and that is certainly evident in our rote-based education system. We are groomed to be efficient workers, where economic status through materialistic attributes takes precedent over any other value. And any deviation from the mainstream is very neatly swept under the carpet. Our only news agency, in fact all mainstream communication, has links with the ruling party, enabling a… Continue

Acting on the passion for life, not money.

Few people would consider the impact of money on our behaviour. Because it is so ingrained in almost every culture, unless you are talking about cultures not influenced by modern society, it has taken on almost religious proportions to most in that most people never question the existence of a monetary system and they think it has always existed and will exist indefinitely.

Since the objective of this mission is to come up with a new system of exchange, and while I have always… Continue

Earth-Friendly Elements, Mined Destructively

People need to realise that our system just is not designed to promote the human or environmental well-being. A problem only gets solved as long as it beings in profits and this is going to lead our planet and our society down the road to destruction.

From The Washington Times:

Some of the greenest technologies of the age,… Continue

Abolish Money, Evolve Humanity

In an age of technologically-created abundance, clinging to a system of monetary exchange and acquisition just serves to retard human progress. While a monetary system served society for thousands of years, facilitating the exchange of scarce goods and services, in this age, we have virtually no use for such a system in the face of increasing automation in all aspects of life. The future of money is a non-future.

Societies of the past needed… Continue

Evoking Weapons of Mass Creation

The year is 2020. On this day, the world is celebrating the anniversary of the day when political nationalism was dissolved in order for Humanity to take the next step in our evolution. With nations abolished, a global Resource-based Economy (RBE) was put into place, enabling everyone equal access to Earth's resources.

Across the world, people gathered in large auditoriums for the annual World Energy Symposium (WES). Unlike the exhibitions of the past, anyone is able to participate in… Continue

Microgeneration to power a nation

In a land-scarce country like Singapore, 80%-90% of the population are housed in high-rise apartment blocks called HDBs, after the government agency that manages them. Instead of thinking how to power individual consumer goods in our lives, In order to promote energy independence, I would like to propose making each HDB block a micro-generation source. Even as almost 100% of Singapore's power comes from fossil fuel, there is no concrete long-range plan to accomplish the transition to renewable… Continue

DESERTEC: Within 6 hours deserts receive more energy from the sun than humankind consumes within a year

At present, about 80% of the world's energy consumption comes from fossil fuels, with only about 6-7% coming from renewable energy systems like biomass, wind, solar, wave etc. Given the current concerns about climate change and depleting fossil fuel supplies, we have a conflicting situation where developing countries are compelled by financial constrains to continue extracting fossil fuels while developed countries

attempt to shirk the financial burden of developing alternative energy… Continue

An Irrelevant Problem in a Resource-based Economy

In 2020, I envision myself living in a self-sustained, technologically advanced city in a global resource-based economy (RBE). Politics and the notion of nationalism of the present have been long abolished, eradicating the present-day problems of corruption, crime, poverty and war. In its place, a global RBE, where decisions are arrived at through the integration of the world's knowledge databases, enables Humanity to use its amazing capabilities to solely advance the human and environmental… Continue

Jacque Fresco: We call for a straightforward redesign of our culture

Jacque Fresco is my hero when it comes to social innovation.

An industrial designer and social engineer, Jacque Fresco has been promoting a general systems methodology in approaching and solving social problems. He recognises that unless everyone on Earth has access to the world's resources, there will continue to be inequality and poverty, which contributes to the increased likelihood of crime and war breaking out.

For the last thirty years, Fresco has headed an organisation… Continue

Transcending a failed system in its entirety

The action that related to me was "think like a child – children have no limit to their thinking". Let us not religiously cling to the belief that the problem can be solved while working within the system. We have to jump into a new paradigm in order to effectively solve the social problems of poverty, corruption, crime and war. To paraphrase Einstein, we cannot expect to solve a problem with the same kind of thinking that created it in the first place.

When we examine the world's… Continue

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
