There have been some questions about who the World Bank is, and what their motives are behind UrgentEvoke. I haven't paid it much attention, as I believe that there is a lot of good coming out of the project regardless as to what THEY get out of it. For instance, I've become extremely active in learning and teaching about the things brought up by the game. On top of that, I can see that at least a few of my friends have become interested and are also spreading the word. With all that said, I…

I've been making significant progress on getting our messages out to the world and wanted to share some of the things I'm doing with the community so they might be able to help and/or use some of these techniques on their own.
First I've created a
social network for current events, including about 1/2 of the blogs and %75 of the site dedicated to alternative energy and other issues I've begun learning about here on Evoke. I've made it easy to find and…

I will be taking on this mission in a few different ways. First I will be doing blogs and using other media outlets to put together a complete view of all the problems the world is facing concerning fresh water, including developed and undeveloped countries. Second, I will be working with representatives of the Austin City Council to explore other options to building a new Water Treatment Center on Lake Travis. As I've mentioned in a few of my blogs, I believe part of getting these important…

At first site it doesn't appear that much has changed, but take a closer look, and here are some things you'll notice.
Rooftop Gardens on every rooftop
Find more photos like this on Urgent Evoke
Upgrades to the old public transportation systems like kinetic power systems installed all along the rails and in the subway stops.…

Hello Everyone,
While preparing for Evoke Missions, I have come to the same conclusion over and over, but didn't have a good solution until now.
Here is the problem. Every week when a new mission is released, I notice a lot of us find the same article, videos, etc and post about them. That's fine, but when you get to a mission late, you're left wondering how much of what you're finding has already been talked about. So you might go and do some searches to see, or if you don't…

In today's world of social networks, portal sites, and personal home pages, there is a WEALTH of news and information. In fact there's almost too much to process coherently. I'm writing this blog to express
an idea you may or may not have thought of, and to show you how I've
built some tools that can help you realize the importance of being a
News Aggregator in your Social Network.
I have recently made an effort to use and understand social networks such as…

I initially started this blog with 1 suggestion, but I'm finding a few others I think that would be useful. In the past I've written similar blogs and the site implemented a few, so I figured I'd give it another try.
1. Add user blogs as examples in mission descriptionsI have been going through trying to complete the missions, because I realized how much I have been learning by having some direction with my thought…

I began this mission the way many of the agents here I imagine, by searching google. However, after thinking about all these amazing inventions and issues, I began thinking about my friend Abe, who I've mentioned a few times before. He is currently living off the grid in Mexico, and his insight into not just how to build a windmill, but how to think about the entire problem was invaluable to me. So instead of just looking for neat new ideas on how to solve the problems, I decided to take a look…

Well, I still can't get enough of
this salmon, which has been raised in a permaculture environment. The flavors the rich ecosystem give the fish rival the best cuts of sashimi I've had at any Japanese restaurant. My dog looks happy with her portion of the salmon as well. I never realized how much even our pets would benefit from having such great responsible food sources. Now that the price of salmon…

I recently moved to Toronto and with the move I started working in a new office. About a week after I started at the new office, people jokingly told me to go find the way to get to the roof because they had some kind of patio and garden up there. Well, at the time, we were still in our "breaking in" period, and I had just found out that contrary to what my colleagues had told me...Canadians do NOT like to be called American just because they reside in NORTH America. Anyways, about 2 months…

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to share something that I feel has brought my family closer, and something you can do easily to bring any social group you care about together.
Since being involved on Evoke, I have been researching the technology it's built on. They use a service called ning.com, who provides the software that created the basic social networking site we are all using. You can go to ning.com and create your own site just like this for any social network you want to…

I have recently been very interested in alternative energy, and specifically ways that people living in an urban environment can begin helping with the global energy crisis. Since moving to Toronto, one of the things which has surprised me most is how windy it is (especially on a 15th floor apartment). With a great balcony and a very windy location, I have decided to try and run some experiments to start creating alternative energy sources that are small and easy to implement for people living…

While the "developed" countries such as the United States and Canada are not currently suffering from the food shortages seen in many African Nations, there are those of us that believe the trickle effect our fuel and energy "hunger" is going to cause a food shortage or at least high food prices which will lead to change or food shortages. As I eluded to in
this blog, I think the idea of "localization" is key to solving…
