Share some things we've gained from Evoke

I'd like to take an opportunity to reflect on our time here on Evoke. Let's share some of the Epic wins and great connections during Season 1.

I had my first epic win when I realized I was speaking to the creator of the site, Jane McGonigal.

The second thing that happened to me while on Evoke was a complete perspective change on the world! Learning about everything going on in the world...problems which seemed unthinkable to me such as lack of…

Evoke Manifesto

What are the goals of the network? How does it work?
Evoke creates an environment which promotes collaboration and research on important and often untaught problems. This is done through Missions presented by Evoke to agents. The addition of Achievements and Rune stones, as well as the Leader Cloud add to the motivation to both learn and contribute, as well as help others with their missions. This collaboration often creates sparks far outside the initial goals set forth by the…

What I define as Risk

I'm not an expert on crisis management or epidemics, but I feel like I think logically and do have experience measuring risk in my own field. In this article, the speaker describes risk as hazard + outrage. While I understand the point he's trying to make about public perception being equally important as the hazard, I found his conclusions quite… Continue

My friend's experience with super inflation in the Ukraine

Working in the Financial Services industry, money is of particular interest to me. Not just making money, but understanding what it is, how it works, and what I can do with that knowledge. As many people are aware or are discovering thanks to this mission, money is just a piece of paper unless someone values it to be worth something. I'm going to speak about super inflation, and use my friend as an example because I think it helps illustrate the last point I made....money is just… Continue

Doctors can lie to women about medical tests?

This story wasn't in the suggested list of topics, but I just read on CNN about the new legislation Oklahoma just passed protecting doctors from being sued if they lie to a mother about potential defects they may have found during fetal testing. I'm going to write about it anyway, because I feel it touches on some very controversial, but important issues somewhat related to abortion and a woman's right to choose, which I will relate to Mission… Continue

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
