For the next season of Evoke, I think some problems that should also be brought to light are issues concerning global warming, environmental issues, arms trade, poverty, and human trafficking. I would still encourage anyone and everybody to play. By allowing everyone to play, your opening up the floor for more opinions and thoughts. I think with global issues and Evoke especially, the more people that express their opinions and thoughts towards global issues, then the more insight we have… Continue

The group of people that I would organize online to help everyone in the flu pandemic would be the experts in their fields. For example, I would have the top leading journalists and reporters as part of the group so they could continually update the site to inform the people as to where the top hospitals are that they should go to. They could inform the people what areas are the most affected and the hardest hit from the flu. I would also have people that are experts in numbers and calculating… Continue

You are the only person who can make yourself happy. Don't rely on materialistic things or other people to make you happy. Happiness comes from within yourself. If you never find a way to be happy for yourself, you'll never be happy. Never be envioius of what others have. Though others may be richer and seem like they have it all, trust me, more times than not, they are missing something and are not truely happy. Love what you have, and don't worry about what you don't have. Remember that what… Continue

Living in Houston, Tx so close to the Gulf coast, a problem that we face and have faced are hurricanes. We had a pretty bad one, Hurricane Ike, in September of 2008. I think Ushahidi is a wonderful way to spread news fast and to a lot of people. Unlike twitter and facebook, Ushahidi focuses on only crises, important information regarding those crises, and getting help to those desperately need it. If there were to be a major hurricane to hit Galveston, I would use Ushahidi to track how other… Continue

A story that I found on womenwatch that both shocked and inspired me was a story on women who live in the Democratic Republic of the Congo or otherwise known as "the rape capitol of the world" to senior United Nations officer Margot Wallstrom. Wallstrom had just come back from visiting the DRC a few days ago on April 27 2010. She spoke before the Security Council and urged them to "make the prevention of sexual violence a top priority,…

Well I'm not sure if this counts, but I'm such a sucker for food or really anything so when my friends want something of mine, I'll usually happily trade them as long as they feed me ha. When it comes to babysitting my nephews for my sister, she knows that money isn't the only thing she can pay me with. She can take me out to eat or buy me a movie that i've been wanting. I really like the idea of exchanging goods with one another as a means for currency. I mean, if you have a certain item in… Continue

I came across this cool website (http://www.lohas.com/articles/102011.html) that was posted on May 1st of 2009 that listed the top ten water innovators. Of the top ten water innovators, my favorite was one called Acoustic Water Purification. Acoustic Water Purification is a project that purifies water. In acoustic water purification, companies are using either sounds or lasers to make a bubble in the water, which then explodes; and the… Continue

When I was about 8 or 9, we actually had a garden in our backyard, However, it was really hard to keep it up because at that time, we didn't have it enclosed so deer and rabbits ate everything we tried to grow. However, me and my mom have been wanting to grow our own garden again. We recently went up to the lake where we have some property and my dad's friend actually started his own garden. He's growing watermelon, corn, jalapenos, tomatoe, okra, squash, and much more. Just seeing how his… Continue

One of my favorite secrets of innovation I found was "don't fight culture." I agree with this completely because I find it so true. I think we Americans forget that not everyone shares our same values and ideas. We aren't the only ones living in this world. We can't expect people who don't live here to follow our same beliefs and values and know why we do the things we do. I think this is why we are constantly at odds with other countries. We need to respect each others cultures instead of…

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
