LEARN3 - Walking & Swimming Energy

When I first started researching methods of generating alternative energy, I was surprised by just how many different innovations are in the works. Not just the usual solar or wind-energy activists. Many are taking it into their own hands to develop and research new, practical methods of replacing grid power in their homes or businesses.

The first one I saw that I really liked is called the "Heel-strike".… Continue

ACT2 - High School Garden

If you live in America, or went to a public school anywhere in America at any point, you've probably experienced the sub-par, unhealthy food choices given in public school cafeterias at some point. Aside from the occasional optional apple or celery stick that me be offered, there is little healthy, organic food readily available to students. Of course over the past few years this has begun to change, but there are still thousands of schools who don't offer any healthy food.

I was… Continue

Enota Ecovillage

I stated before that I was recently inspired by a fellow Agent (Reid Falconer) to look into ecovillages. I am not situated in Africa, unfortunately, so its rather difficult to outreach that far without adequate funds. However, I have been looking into local ecovillages and settlements near my current home in Georgia (US). I found one about three hours away.…

NEXTSTEP - Ecovillages, Evoke, and Trepid First Steps

Since I first started browsing this site and its users, one person has inspired me right from the get-go. That person would be Reid Falconer. Its only been a few days, but in that short a time I've begun the transition from being a do-nothing lamer to truly being interested in solving the world's problems. I know little to nothing about alternative energy or ecovillages. I am possibly the most politically and socially inactive person… Continue

IMAGINE1

A wise screenwriter once said "Give it ten years. If you're doing something for ten years and you haven't gotten anywhere, perhaps its time to change professions." I'm paraphrasing. Its difficult to say where one will be in a decade. Life often leads us in directions we never thought we'd go. But I can say with absolute certainty where I want to be.

Being a writer I want to use my gift-my talent- to shed light on worldwide economic and societal issues. I will have accomplished this in… Continue

ACT1

I chose to shadow the @gatesfoundation via Twitter. My main reason for choosing the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is they are one of the few privately owned social entrepreneurship organizations that are actually doing a lot to change the world. Another reason is they are very focused towards children, be it distributing vaccines or encouraging the development of education, both domestically and foreign.

"think like a child – children have no limit to their thinking"

Of all the rules and tips I've read, this one is, to my, the most valid, and the least understood. As adults, or even teenagers, we tend to extremely limit our thinking. We put our ideas through filters. Normally this isn't an issue. The problem is those filters are often made of cynicism and pessimism. We instantly dismiss most ideas as ridiculous and impossible, without really exploring the possibilities first. More… Continue

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
