It has been dubbed GenShock by former MIT students Zack Andersen and Shakeel Avadhany. Who have been working on a new shock system that generates electricity when you drive through pot h*** ridden streets. I'm currently following Ashoka, Changemakers and thewaterproject.org on facebook. Unfortunately i don't see many ways of collaborating with such groups. Perhaps in the future they will let more people collaborate with them. It seems for now the only type of collaboration they do is post updates on facebook.

We are going to have the party on the waterfront, clear glass dispensers will
light up cool blue dyed water with oled displays, flashing through facts about
our current water supply. Glow sticks will be handed out and glo-fish that monitor
the pollution of the river will be released to show the current pollution levels

My favorite clean water projects include anything that gets water from the air. Using water from the air is one of the most natural things, using biomimicry for gather fresh clean water is great.

Steping Lightly
This year i decided would be the year that i would start being more eco-friendly. I have yet to start recycling because my city took away the bins. Everyone is angry about it, the bins were always filled to the top and bags stacked near it because there were so many. UK Air Pollution Shortening Lives By Up To 9 Years!
According to an article on guardian.co.uk website. UK air pollution caused by the burning of diesel and other fuels can be deeply inhaled into the lungs causing 50,000 deaths a year. Food Security in a small town
The biggest challenge to food security in my town is this. We have land on the river that we grow corn on,nothing but corn and all of it is shipped out. None stays to support the town, we don't even have a farmer's market. It is illegal to own farm animals! Even though we know that some of us do it anyways though. The store where we live just raised the prices again on everything. It's the only store our town has and we are over 15 miles away from the next one. No one can afford to shop there anymore, they raise the prices now even when they don't need to, just because they want to price gouge us some more. My family was on food stamps up until a few months ago. They kept cutting the money on the cards until there was nothing left.
The prices are horrible! Everyone says there going to get worse…

Innovation in Africa
I read the tips on the innovation in Africa and i agree, infrastructure begets infrastructure. Use what you have to build what you need. If your town is in trouble and needs a community garden but there is none. Find the land, have people donate the tools, donate their time, their effort and you can succeed in anything.

Food Security
Me and my family bought 30 chickens last year. We gave half of them away to a farmer who gives the eggs away to people in his town. The rest of them were kept for my family. We also are planting fruit trees and started a garden. This year we are expanding our gardens and planting more. We also want to reverse the laws in our town forbidding farm animals so that the people in our town who are having trouble will be able to have fresh eggs.

The year is 2020, it's my sister's birthday and she is 26 years old today. Power is hard to come by lately and gas prices are sky rocketing. This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years.
