New Map

A future map of my city is here in Charleston. There are new buildings built on higher land in order for people to evacuate. There are also widen roads which will help decrease traffic while people are evacuating. There are less houses built along the coast line and the other houses built are two levels. The first level is just a lift above the ground to help prevent flooding inside of the house. Most of the houses are off of the islands and inland so they are not greatly affected by the…

Charleston Hurricane Plan

Charleston is under a great chance of being affected by a hurricane. Charleston has a hurricane plan that many people do not know about. I asked many of my classmates if they knew that Charleston had a hurricane plan and they were unaware of this. A hurricane is considered as having winds that succeed more than 74 miles per hour. Within 36 hours there should be a hurricane warning. One of the first steps is to check into flood insurance. Charleston advises having a 3 day storage of water.…

Preventing a natural disaster

The most likely natural disaster in my area of Charleston is a hurricane. With a natural disaster in Charleston there would extreme flooding and a large amount of people would be affected. We must prepare to face this crisis. There is already a lot of poverty in Charleston so a food crisis would greatly affect the area. There would be a shortage of food because of the flooding with the hurricane. A hurricane would have a power outage. Charleston is also the home of a large hospital, as well…

Women in 20 years

Women in the future are going to be involved more politically. The United States would have had their first woman president. In Spain there is currently an increase in programs trying to help women with breast cancer. These women in Spain in 2020 will have better health care opportunities including earlier detection of breast cancer which will leave to a higher survival rate. In Afghanistan there are more educational programs for women. This education will help empower women and they will…

Raising for a cause

Unfortunately I am unable to donate money to a cause. But I am spreading awareness by telling people about inequalities with women. In one of my cla**** we were asked to make an essay about anything involved human rights and inequality. The topic that I choice to write about was gender inequality. I looked at the gender gap index and discussed inequalities here in the United States considering that the United States is rated 20th in the Gender Gap Index. Spreading this information in the…

Womens Rights

A story that inspires me is the one “Finding Justice for Survivor of Gender-Base Violence in Solamlia.” An example of a lack of women rights was a sixteen year old who was grabbing water, a guy asked her for the water and ended up taking her captive for two weeks and raped her repeatedly. There is a join initiative of UNFPA and the United Nations Development Programme. The person was convicted and sentenced to 20 years in prison. Gender faced violence is a challenge in Somalia. Ninety…

Important Lesson

An important lesson learned is from studying greenhouse ga****. One problem that we can try to tackle is the greenhouse gas problem with global warming. It seems that there is a heat flux in the planet which has warmed the atmosphere, ocean, and the earth. The warming is slow. There are rising sea levels which will cause human migration inward. Along with this there can be increase disease, more extreme storms, and salt intrusion into coastal water. It is important to learn about these…

Save the Earth

Hello members of planet earth. My name is Justine and I have been on this planet now for 100 years. The local secret that I will pass on to all of you is to take care of the earth. Now that we are the indigenous people of this planet after getting invaded by mars, we have to approach our situation differently. Throughout my 100 years of life I have seen what human's impact has had on our planet. There is no more Amazon forest and most of wildlife is dying. Polar bears which used to live in…

New Bank Open

A new local bank just opened in my city. The bank is located in New York, where people from all over the world come. New York has people from all social cla****. The bank does not store currency like other banks. The bank instead stores goods that could be used for bartering. It was created by Bank of America. You bring your items to the bank and they will store it for you. Each person gets an allotted amount of space, but you can purchase more space. The community that it serves is the…

New Currency

One new form of currency I used that I usually do not use is bartering. I traded swiffer wipes for someone to clean for an inspection. What I got in return for these swiffer wipes were paper towels. I did not realize until this that some people use bartering in their daily lives. One goal I have is to try to use bartering with people from outside of school. I want to go out in the community and see how this bartering may work.

Bartering

Bartering is the form of currency that will change the world. Bartering is the exchange of goods or services in place of using a formal currency. Bartering was widely used prior to the creation of money. Bartering can help the countries that do not have currency or a strong currency so they are on the same playing field as other nations. When currency is not easily convertible many nations already use barter so it would be convenient to make bartering more easily done on the computer. This…

Where am I?

In the year 2020 I would have finished my bachelors in Political Science. I am located in New York visiting my family during vacation leave I was given with the Army. My family and I are sitting around the table eating pizza when all of a sudden when alchemy calls me to help the Tokyo food crisis. I immediately head to JFK to fly out to begin helping Tokyo.

Social Innovator

Mabel Van Oranje is the Social Innovator that I am going to follow. She is the founder of “Girls Not Brides: The Global Partnership to End child Marriage.” She is involved with many more things such as the Elders. Oranje tries to educate and empower women so they have more of a say in their community. Empowering women can have many benefits including an economic one. The way that I am going to follow this hero is I am going to follow her website. I chose this person because ACT1.

See and do the Obvious

See and do the obvious can help me change the world. It can help me change the world because a lot of people over look the obvious things in life. They assume that others are acting on these things so they do not do them. Sometimes the obvious and easy things can have the biggest impact on people. #LEARN1

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
