For university I wrote a paper about the Evoke network in German (posted down below). For the guys that dont speak German I note the following key points out of my paper here in English.
Key points:
- Already Evoke is a great concept to bring people to solve social problems
- Bring more activity to the Evoke network. Instead of showing the Evidence Log, show the an activity index of friends and other players (who posted where, who solved which problem, who posted… Continue

The Evoke network in 2021 works as follow:
There are still missions to play but additionally the community can decide what problem they want to solve next. So it does not have a fixed plan to play but more flexibility to react on imminent problems in the world.
And you stay in direct contact to the rest of the community. You see the contribution (messages, blogs, comments, votings and ratings) of your friends on your personal "EVOKE homepage". So you can track progress on your… Continue

So gut es ist, sich den guten Ratschlägen zu unterwerfen, so gefährlich ist es, sich den guten Ratgebern zu unterwerfen. – Bertholt Brecht

To know how to fight a pandemic you have to know how people act and how they behave on extreme situations. What the people feel more: Panic or denial? Most of us would probably say it is panic. But it is not! "Denial is why panic is rare" you can read in the article. Panic is a mechanism that protects human beings against extreme situations.
I gonna tell younger people about year 2011. I will tell them how we started into a future with renewable technology. How we started to create wind power station. And that there were really only a few houses with solar cells on the roofs!
When I am 100 years old the people probably dont have the time to meet in personal. Video chatting is the preferred. Its all digital. Also the democracy is digital. There is always the possibility to do ad hoc voting.

I would like to present you the Indo-German Watershed Development Programme (IGWDP).
The program is about the rehabilitation of watersheds and it is administered by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and the Watershed Organisation Trust (WOTR).
It is very interestring because it brings the people together with their environment in a structured way and thereby fights poverty.
The following is an extract of the National Bank for… Continue

How would Frankfurts security forces handle a terrorist attack? Frankfurt improves competency by exercising such a situation. For example an attack on the public transport system:
Did people in Frankfurt know that? I talked to some friends of mine and showed them the video yesterday.
Interesting / central statements were:

Ushahidi extends the information send by individuals with the corresponding geographic dimension. Its easy to use (mobile phones) and free. So almost everybody is able to use it.
People in Germany live in a society where so much food is just thrown away because there is enough and the vast majority of the people is easily able to pay for it.
So how would Ushahidi work if there would be a food crisis in Germany. If there would not be enough food or too expensive food for… Continue

My favorite project on global giving is the Women's Global Empowerment Fund.
It is 2020 and there is a big community around the project and thereby a lot of progress. The magical border of one billion Euro of donations was reached this year. With that money a lot of projects can be implemented.
There is a project helping illiterate women in Africa to get on their own by learning how to read and to write. There have been 5 Million women that have learned how to read and to… Continue

When it comes to equality and the prejudice against women its an issue to interest women for jobs that are typical men jobs. Regarding that I found this article.
Its about the "Girls in ICT day". The ICT stands for "information and communications technologies". As this area is more or less known as a mens area the article writes about the importance to bring women in exactly… Continue

This is Benjamin Maag reporting from the UN conference in Johannesburg South Africa.
Today is steeped in history. The UN member states compounded on a new article in the UN charta. It says that every individual in a less developed country has to be granted a mirco loan to start a business. This is a big step forward. From now on poor people have the possibility to get out of poverty on their own.…
Just a minute ago I submitted a 25 USD (round about 20 EUR) micro loan at KIVA for the Ruth Nuwajuna's Group (see here; just scroll down there to see my micro loan (Benjamin / Germany)). The group needs money to invest in fertilizers for her banana plantation in Uganda.
I think a good way to support people in poor countries is to support their businesses with micro loans. On the one hand side they can do important… Continue
There are lot of new ways to spend money for various purposes since the web 2.0 community grows more and more. But there are still the big players like VISA, Mastercard, Banks and other intermediaries. And where you have intermediaries you have to pay a specific margin for the service.
A different approach I found here. It uses an existing network (mobile phones), with an existing technology… Continue

On searching the internet I found these. They show how the water crisis in India looks like.
Often change begins with a small invention. So in this post I dont want to point out an established inventor and/or social inventor. Furthermore, I want to show you the so called "Every drop counts" design invented by Ulrik Svenningsen of the Umea Institute of Design,… Continue

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More
