The Wh*** World is Invited!

I am going to plan a spectacular event! We are going to commemorate the good that all the people fighting for clean water has accomplished. We will do a "day without water" which from sun-up to sun-down everyone will be encouraged not use water for drinking or sanitation purposes. This will be to recognize the struggle so many people go through on a daily basis.

Water 1st - People 1st

Water 1st International does a number of benefits throughout the year. There is one coming to San Francisco soon. I hope to be able to go to that and learn even more about their cause and maybe even donate some of my time or money. Every little bit helps to change and impact someone else's life significantly.

Water 1st International

Water 1st International is dedicated to bringing clean water for drinking and sanitation to the most impoverished parts of our world. They believe that clean water is a basic human right as well as toilets and other sanitation needs. They hope to see extreme poverty not exist any longer. They have a foundation that everyone can join the effort. They raise money, travel, do runs/walks in the effort to stop this shortage.

Christmas 2020!

My family and I are gathering to celebrate our favorite holiday, Christmas, together in my house. All the cousins, grandparents, aunts and uncles are there and excited to sing songs, dine, and of course open presents. The roof is completely solar powered so although the morning was overcast, there was enough to power the house and all of our needs throughout the entire fun-filled night. The kids know nothing of the way we used to use power "in the old days". Solar energy is all they have ever… Continue

Powering Up by Powering Down

Finding a way to power something differently is extremely challenging. If I could I would use solar energy, but living in the dorms makes that difficult. I can help reduce the energy I use by unplugging my appliances when I am not using them and turn off the lights and TV when myself or my roommates forget. This little changes can help reduce energy as well as reduce the cooling bill since all these things add heat. So I plan to increase the power by "powering down".

Sustainable Energy for a Sustainable Future

Sustainable Energy Solutions (SES) is dedicated to finding sustainable energy solutions on a local and global scale. They are using patented Cryogenic Carbonic Capture. The design is to separate nearly pure CO2 gases from the power plant and then separates the CO2 from the other gases. They have a safe way to store this CO2 underground to be reused.

Although I am not quite sure what this all means, I do see that this company is doing very well since their founding in 2008 and has received… Continue

The girls are smart and happy

The girls I would help by donating money to the project my sister is doing in Rome will help the girls get the education they need to take on the world. Most of the girls will now be in there teens and early 20s. All in high school or have graduated. Many have gone on to college. Their futures are bright because they can do what they set their minds to.

Help those Who Need it Most

My sister is going to Rome this summer to help build a dormitory for an all-girls school for girls who have been abandoned. My family and friends are all going to ban together to raise money to send with her so she can donate to the cause. These girls have already been through so much that having a safe place to stay and get educated is such a vital necessity.

On WomenWatch there is a movement in Cameroon to get education for young girls. I think this is an essential part of anyone's life whether they are men or women. Young girls need to be educated so they can be viable assets to the community. They also need to be protected because I am sure many people oppose this view and may try to harm these young brave girls. Continue

Dinner Time!

It is dinner time in my house here in 2020. Myself, my husband Joey, and our two kids are sitting down to our table. We have a salad with fresh vegetables from the farmer's market and stuffed bell peppers. Everything is vegetarian. I have been a vegetarian for 2 years and my family just loves my vegetarian cooking.

Seeds for Life

I was fortunate to be raised with a father who always grew his own vegetables. Year round we would have some new kind of fresh vegetable to eat as well as fresh fruit from our apple, orange, lemon, and peach trees.
I think that it would be cool to sell packets of seeds to encourage people to grow their own gardens and the proceeds would go to efforts in other parts of the world to grow their own gardens.

Food in the Bay

I am fortunate to live in America and never know the meaning of being truly hungry or having a food shortage. Living in the Bay Area there are a good deal of homeless individuals. There are programs set up to help them, but I must admit that I often look past these people. I need to start opening my eyes more.

There are also farmer's markets around so that people in the community can buy fresh local produce.

These things should be brought hand in hand so that everyone gets fed and is… Continue

Me in 10 years

Ten years from now I picture myself living in San Diego, CA. I hope to be married at have at least one child (I will be 32). I intend to have my own event coordinating company where I plan weddings and parties and help to make the happiest days in people's lives memorable and spectacular. I hope to be helping my local church with things around the community and leading a simple yet extraordinary life.

ACT1

I looked at Ashoka followers online. They are a group dedicated to social innovation and support entrepreneurs at all levels. They are committed to helping those around the world to make this world a better place. They are inspiring because they work selflessly and tiredlessly. I hope to take some of their innovational ideas and use them in my own life.

Talk to People Who Know

It is true that unless you know what it means to be hungry, you can not know how it feels. It is important to talk to people who actually have experienced true hunger. There needs to be consistency in our nation. Talking about it does not really mean much, we actually need to get out into the community and help. We can go to a soup kitchen or just be there when we are needed.

Social Innovation...LEARN

The part of the 33 secrets that most struck me was Paul Polak's statement regarding thinking like a child. He states, "Think like a child – children have no limit to their thinking". This means that adults should think outside their little box to find a solution to problems. When we think small, small things happen. When we think creatively, creative things happen. The possibilities are endless when you have an open mind.
