An Electric Brazil

Fabio Rosa is a man from Brazil who had one main goal since he came there in the 1980s: provide electricity for the people who live in rural areas. To me he's not only a social entrepreneur, but he is also a POWER PLAYER, preferably one with big goals. Ever since Rosa moved to Brazil he had wanted to provide electricity for the countries. One of his big projects was actually his first, he helped the people in the countryside outside of a town in BRazil called Palmeras- bringing hundreds of…

David and the KCIS making a difference in Kenya- Shadowing

When I went online to Afrigadget I found someone that I could follow who I thought had a spectacular idea. David who works for the Kenyan Community Intiative Support came up with the idea of a Anaerobic Digester using only the simple tools of a drum, a vale and some pipes. Here's how his crazy yet amazing contraption works:

The balloon shows that gas is being produced. The costs for the drum and professional valves may already be too high for some, and the design isn’t that optimal.…

Season 2- A Great future awaits

After the first season of Evoke is now over I can tell the wh*** EVOKE network and even myself that I have learned a great deal about the world and issues areound me. Everywhere and what recently happened in Mexico was an oil spill and this is the Urgent issue that I think EVOKE should try and tackle next: The Oil Crisis. This is something that affects people around the world especially in places like Venezeula, the Middle East and the Greater Middle East (Asia). The communities that I think…

Taking a big risk with RISK

To me my the most shocking insight that I found was in COVERING RISK and it was RISK= HAZARD+ OUTRAGE. Something that was shocking to me that I didn't know was that if you and your body think that one risk is upsetting you wouldn't know that it's deadly at the same time or if it's not even deadly at all. To me before this I never knew that taking risk could be so related to something that could kill people, I didn't know that there was also a formula to finding risk. A hazard is whether this… Continue

Oaxaca: Gathering together: Indegious knowledge

In the state of Oaxaca which is in Mexico women are working together to help grow thier crops, easily make clothes and share their ideas with each other. One of my favorite secrets after reading about this country's case study is that they are working with the organization UNICEF to boost their struggles such as dealing with medicine and the association of physcians. AS these women in Oaxaca work together they are reaching their goal and the status of indegious women has been enhanced… Continue

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
