LEARN7: Cape Town Flooding Ushahdi

Cape Town is 350 years old. It is an isolated city that hugs the furthest tip of Africa. It is far from Europe and Asia, whose people established it, far even from Pretoria, whose apartheid government forced segregation upon it and whose new government would like to see it become more 'African'.…

He is a musician and commonly uses the didgeridoo as one of his instruments. When offered me the opportunity to help make one with him I was thrilled because being a musician myself I love these kind of things.

The didgeridoo (also known as a didjeridu or didge) is a wind…

Street People Voucher Initiative

After reading this challenge I thought about what currency I was going to introduce to my fellow agents. The first great initiative that I thought of was when I volunteered at Wynberg peace home and was Introduced to the Street People Voucher {made by uturn}. This is a voucher that anybody can purchase. In South Africa we have many homeless people that beg on the side of the road for money.… Continue

The Roots of Poverty in South Africa, Questions By: Panamericana and Michele Baron, Answers by: Me (Reid Falconer)

Here are the answers to the questions that Michele Baron and Panamericana devised:

I answered the questions after having discussions with an ecologist Tracey Phillips and one of my EVOKE mentors Cheryl

Douglas, who gave input and insight on the matter at hand.

South Africa has recently become a political democracy,

e.g. people can vote who is the president,

what do you think the use of this political democracy is

without economic… Continue

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
