ACT 10

I think that for the first episode of season two the focus should be on trying to create awareness about the dangers associated with not having enough information about disease and not having access to the right medication. I feel that if an objective can be set to try and let people in disadvantaged areas know about the problems that they are facing the rate of infection will be reduced. If people become more aware of what is going on in the world they may also be more willing to help and… Continue

LEARN 10

I think that the next episode of Evoke should be open to everyone, as this one was, but it should be directed more at people in the business world whio have more experience with problem solviong and who have had time to see what the real issues in the world are. I feel that the Evoke community should be built up in countries and areas that are less developed and therefore are in more need of help, both in the form of money and skill sharing. Although some problems were tackled in season one…

I thin the most important people in a medical crisis such as a flu pendemic are journalists. I believe that they have a very important role to play due to the fact that they are the ones who will be able to get inforamtion about the disease out to people as well as the ways that it can be contracted and how people can try and reduce their risk of contamination. By giving the media access to this information the government will be helping itself because people will have mnore inforamtion on the… Continue

The secret of crisis communication that I chose was how to manage panic in an emergency situation. I think that this is important because if the government and authorities do not know how to keep citizens calm and to rely the relevant information to them there can be a large increase in the casualties because people panic and start acting irrationally out of fear. The media and journalists play a large role in containing panic due to the fact that they have the resources that make it…

When I am 100 years old I feel that the world as a wh*** would have changed. Today in the year 2020 people are becoming more open to new things and there is more acceptance. However there are still a lot of things in this world that need to be changed in order to make the world a…

IMAGINE 7

In the year 2020 I imagine that Grahamstown will be much more self sufficient with people growing their own food. Due to the fact that there are major water problems here at the moment I imagine that by 2020 the community as a wh*** will have joined together and installed rain…

ACT 7

There are a few programs that have been implemented in Grahamstown including programs that have been started by students. The main society that is run by the students is known as 'GRASS' (Gaian Revolutions and Social Solutions) which trys to educate the members on how to act in a more sustainable manner and to use their resources to the best of their ability. By doing this more people are learning how to save precious resources such as paper and water. They also run community garden projects…

In Grahamstown there have been strikes occuring by the municiple workers, this is not the first time it has happened. For this reason I am sure that it is going to happen again due to the fact that it is very hard to keep everyone happy and trying to find a balance between what employers want and what employees want. In order to report on this situation and try and prevent it from happening I would have to find out how many people are unhappy and what they are planning to do about it. After…

Women and girl's lives in the future will be greatly changed from the program that is currently being implemented involving how the stigma with HIV and Aids and the type of information that people have on the topic. due to the fact that this program is currently being implemented by 2020 much more people will have been reached and therefore there will be more support and less people will be getting infected by the disease because more people will have more information. this will greatly change… Continue

ACT 6

The women's empowerment objective that I have decided to support is helping women in South Africa to fight HIV and Aids. I think that this is a very good thing to raise money for because so many peiople are suffering from Aids in South Africa and if I can even help one person have a better quality iof life it will be worth while. Although the neccessary drugs are avaliable in South Africa they come at a price and some people do not havwe the resources to buy them. This organisation is trying to… Continue

The story that I found on women's watch is about how sport is being used to promote girl's empowerment in Afghanistan. The point of doing this was to help get the girls involved in the community and to help them have more power in the community. There were girl's sports teams created and they took part in a sports day which was organised to help promote awareness. All the girls that were involved have been victums of violence in the homes and as well as this sports day workshops were done in… Continue

In 2020 there is a new bank opening that is going to be known as The Visionary Bank and it will be located in Zimbabwe's more rural districts. The reason that it will be set up in the more rural areas is because the main aim of this bank is going to be as a savings bank. There are going to be points allocated to people who have accounts at the bank and help out in the community by doing small operations will get money taken off their bank charges. This will encourage people to do more for the… Continue

ACT 5

The real life transaction that I took part in was to do with the bartaring system. My friend and I decided to bartar some of our possesions with each other. Although I have swapped clothes with my friends before it has never been a proper transaction and I have always gotten my stuff back in the end. Therefore this time when we decided to do it, it was alot more serious because we both decided that it would not be temporary and that we woulod not be getting our items of chlothing back. Although… Continue

In my opinion the thing that is going to make the biggest change to the way money is viewed and used was discovered and developed by Michael Ivey. He thought that you should be able to pay people via 'Twitter' and by other instant messaging systems such as sms. By doing this alot of time and effort and removed from transactions. His company is known bas 'Twitpay' and the way that he is doing it is by linking people's PayPal Accounts with their Twitter accounts. This has revolutionised how…

For World Water DAy in 2020 I think that the main focus sholud be on showing people that water is very precious and that it should not be wasted or used unnecessarily. The event will have tio be big enough to capture the attention of the wh*** world yet not too pricey in organisation. Therefore I think that the event I will plan will be a big sports day. There will be different events all relating to the opreservation of water. Instead of a normal egg and spoon race there will be a race where… Continue

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
