How can nanotechnology help solve the world’s water problems?

The lack of availability of clean water to many of the world’s population currently leads to suffering and premature death for millions of people, and as population pressures increase, climate change starts to bite, and food…

Water crises. Act

Most water in every household is used for washing dishes. My suggestion is to save water by using big bowl of water for all dishes for the first round and then clean them with second bowl of clean water. This will help to save lots of water, especially in places where water is not…

Imagine 3

In 2020 I will be 34 years old and might be celebrating birth of my second child. It will be in big house heated by wooden pellets. One of cleanest energy sources wooden pellets will be used for heating and cooking. Having small garden at home our children…

Act3 " Some ideas"

Indeed nothing can replace electricity. Using candles or oil lamps might be Ok for short term, but for the long term it might have side effects for eyes. I think the best way is to use sun light as much as possible and leave less work for evening time when real light need grow up. Effectively planning things and finishing work on day time is good to save energy and have good sleep enhancing one's health strongness. Children should be controlled not to play video or computer games at night and… Continue

Learn3: Sustainable energy: wooden pellets

Orkney Sustainable Energy have established a demonstration project to show that high standards of heating can be achieved in domestic properties at low cost without the need to use fossil fuels. Wood pellets are renewable and sustainable, and we have set up a supply of fuel for the Islands. A local company has also been…

LEARN 2: Food security

So far I do not see any food insecuirity in my community. Food is available, but for high prices. Thus, most people have rather low income- low nutritious food problem. Just being back from Switzerland, it is hard for me to see how much under developed is my country. Difference between rich and poor people is really high. What can be done....? First of all, I think Government needs to open new job places whether through creating favourable climate for investors or giving low rate loan for SMEs.… Continue

Mission 2: How can I help to feed another person....

Well, as I am not specialist gardener or botanic I cannot create special projects or farms, because I am not sure how much feasible they can be... However, I have a good idea to share tonight and hope somebody from my Government can read it. Kazakhstan is the 9th biggest country in the world, but the population is only 17 mln, occupying only 20-30% of territory. The rest is steppes and green fields. Doubtless my country has great potential to grow animals; sheep, horses, cows can be grown in… Continue

IMAGINE 2

2020...Nice family dinner, Mom as usual rushing to put delicious food prepared by her on table. Me, helping her, singing my favorite song "This I promise you". The smell of tasty boiled horse meat, potato, carrot and spaghetti is coming from the kitchen. Just being back from US, where I cannot find high quality horse meat and eco products I feel wild eagerness to have this wonderful Kazakh national food "Beshbarmak". Thus, I call my Dad, brother, his family and my husband to table immediately… Continue

Electric cars: Impressions from Geneva Motor Show 2010

Yesterday I visited Geneva Motor Show and was pleasantly surprised by the number of electric and eco-friendly cars. I guess most companies and famous brands such as Audi, BMW, Lexus and many others have realised that in future more and more people will start using electric cars.

Electric vehicles have minimal CO2 emission and provides the same features of normal petrol car. It is obvious that one day oil resources will reach minimum level and people will need to use new sources of… Continue

Imagination: Me in 2020.

2020... People, technological innovations, Earth, countries....

When I was 13 years old, and imagined the world in future, I thought about flying cars, robots doing everything for me, I dreamed about a robot who can do all my homework for me, and who can go to school instead of me, I dreamed about living in Long Island beach...and now I think it was so childish and whatever I had at that time was the best thing a person can get in life: nice family and time spent with…

Vision: Keep a look out for other challenges or new solutions all the time.

Indeed, life is full of challenges and some might think why we need to look for other challenges and solutions if we have them already? I believe people who think this way may not succeed in long term, because without continuous learning one day you stop develop yourself and will stuck in one place. Your solutions which seemed to be brightest decisions might turn to mistakes and losses. Being challenged with new things you keep growing mentally, emotionally and…

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
