Empowering women is inevitable

This Evoke gets at the economic and demographic roots of feminism. And the

next step, which is gender parity, is still undefined because it’s only become

the next step very recently.

Merely three hundred years ago, prosperity depended upon family size. In an agricultural society all

hands are needed for sustenance and wealth. And without any social

network, you relied on your children to take care of you as you aged. So

as children brought prosperity and… Continue

Problems are not always obvious from afar

I credit my good friend Madu for this. In his role at the Wisconsin State Capitol, Madu is fostering partnerships and economic development between Wisconsin and Nigerian businesses. One difficulty Madu shared with me is that few in Nigeria, much less Africa as a wh***, can order goods and get them shipped to them.

This issue has several facets, a couple are big. First, companies like Amazon.com don't like to ship to the third world - it's hard for them to be paid efficiently. Second,… Continue

Barter

I've long know about barter and my wife an I have used it in our businesses.

I've traded waste consulting services for written testimonials from influential non-profits, allowing more cash to flow to their mission rather than their overhead, while I received connections and endorsements to help me grow.

My wife exchanges her services for those her business needs.

I've also proposed that my current employer engage in either a three way barter transaction or join a… Continue

Copywriting and water filters

Stumbled on this great post last weekend which is why I chose to start with Water Crises. There are two great ideas here. The first is putting the water filter into a reusable bottle cap. The second is great salesmanship to evoke investment and adoption of this type of technology.

PlayPumps are fun and worthy - is fun a key?

Immediately the PlayPumps captured my imagination and attention. They are simple and effective. A true KISS solution. Wish that you could still directly sponsor them. What a story you could tell.

Actually, that's a key insight. Being able to toot your own horn with a compelling story tied to your personal contributions.

I shared the PlayPump video from YouTube on my Facebook page, and hopefully it will get some attention and comments.

I tend to like fun and smart… Continue

PlayPump update

While this is catchy and fun, PlayPumps cannot be directly sponsored any longer. The technology is integrated into a broader solution set from Water For the People.

Sponsor a PlayPump

A PlayPump is a merry-go-round attached to a water pump. While

children have fun spinning on the merry-go-round, clean water is drawn

from underground into a tank that is easily accessible by a simple tap.…

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
