You are entitled to your feelings.

On the page, "How do people react in a Pandemic?", the Nieman foundation states under the heading "Five principle bulwarks against denial" that people should feel entitled to feel fear.… Continue

Best food is your own food

I am sitting at home with lots of my family. We are eating a good South-African Sunday lunch with the chickens my mother bred her self, lamb my father in law bred himself and all the good vegetables from my own garden. The food is fresh and the different tastes explodes in your mouth. For dessert, my aunt brought preserved peaches (which was grown in her own garden), served with ice-cream bought from the dairy farm close to my parent's home.

To some this sounds almost impossible,…

Advertising "food securers"

I helped develop a website for Tateni Home Care Nursing Services, who already have their own vegetable garden, but would like to expand it. The website helps them keep in touch with their sponsors and creates an opportunity for new sponsors/volunteers to join them in their quest to create food and care opportunities in their community.

You can always use the skills you have to make a difference!

Creativity needed to secure food security in South Africa

As reported by Pretoria News (please read), food security in South Africa is under a very serious threat because of crime on farms. As South Africa's neighboring countries also look to South Africa for aid in food shortages, this is a very disturbing fact. The safety of our farms and farm-workers is at a critical low and if something is not done quickly and decisively, South Africans and its… Continue

Being a leader of leaders.

I know that a lot of this "dream" will not stay a dream much longer! By 2020 this will definitely be happening:

I wake up everyday with a peace that surpa**** all understanding and a freedom that reminds me that I have the choice between life and death in every word spoken on that day.

I love it at home, because my family is one that is built on love. I also look forward to going to work, because I will be training leaders to be even better leaders and raising up new leaders. I… Continue

Don't fight culture, use it as a weapon to fight with!

"When in Rome, do as Romans do"!

My favorite secret is the "Don’t fight culture"-secret. This is very hard to do though, but it is crucial. Africa has had enough "western influence" as it is and most of it, worsened the state of the African people. Some of Africa's poorest countries were once thriving and self-sufficient, now they stand with empty hands, asking for outsiders to fill them. Instead of changing the cultures, we must remind them of the… Continue

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
