Dr Suellen Miller and the LifeWrap - Part 2

I sent the following e-mail about a week ago:

Dear Dr Miller

My name is Yumna Moosa and I am a fourth year medical student at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. I am also a member of EVOKE, a social network game designed to help empower

young people all

over the world, and especially young people in Africa, to come up…

Deleted ACT2 Evidence

So I deleted my evidence for ACT2.

Some pieces of evidence are instantly recognisable as being written by South African players. I'm talking about the ones where people are going that extra mile to make their domestic-worker-maid-gardener-helper's life a little bit easier. The ones that celebrate how good we're being to them by giving them free food or giving them… Continue

Acting on ACT1: Saving Moms!

I've e-mailed the LifeWrap people about getting our hands on the actual product, how much it costs, training required to use it, etc.

Also, I've done some of the preliminary research in terms of my project for school: what postpartum haemorrhage is, the causes, prevention, management/treatment, and reasons why people die from it even though it's largely preventable and/or manageable.

A lot of it's quite medical though... are people interested? If yes, I can try translate from… Continue

A simple meal

It is a warm evening, and I’m sitting alone on a bench near the clinic where I work, gazing into the distance. This is one of the rare opportunities I have to experience stillness. On my lap rests a bowl of steaming rice, baked beans and seasonal vegetables – freshly picked and lovingly prepared by the women who cook for the patients, staff and visitors at the clinic.

Plain and wh***some, each spoonful nourishes my being.

Dr Suellen Miller and the LifeWrap

Earlier today, when I was exploring the Evidence, I came across a YouTube video about the LifeWrap - a safe, re-usable way to save mothers' lives.

Sharing is caring

Share knowledge and skills to continue the innovative process both to and from people and communities.

I work at a university-based student-run volunteer organisation, where people are appointed to leadership positions for one academic year.

So continuity is a problem.

My solution: share.

Sharing knowledge, skills and experience… Continue

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
