You dont have to work

The thing I have learned quite a while ago, which is connected to the future of money is the idea of a basic income. In general it is about disconnecting the money from work. Meaning, that even if you dont work, you will still have enough money to live a decent life. Everyone will get it, unconditionally.

It is based on the fact, that in todays modern world, we have means to make the work easier and to work less. The Ancient Romans and Greeks used slaves to work for them,…

Many of you, that read this post, probably know who Jane McGonigal is.If not, heres the video of her talking on TED about how gaming can save the world http://www.ted.com/talks/jane_mcgonigal_gaming_can_make_a_better_world.html which is exactly the video, which brought me here.

I have a huge passion for games, especially the ones, where you get to do something live. Yes, that mainly means…

Chargerbike

Heres the thing. We have a stationary bike at home and it has a digital display so it needs electricity and so does the system, which controls the difficulty of your training. So in order to get the display and the difficulty control up and running, you need batteries. My thought is, why not make the bike produce energy for itself? Oh, wait, there are such bikes, Ive seen them in fitness studios. Apparently, the fitness studio owners know a lot about paying as little as they can for the energy,… Continue

Food from my rooftop(s)

In 2020 (OK, maybe not in 2020 but definetely somwhere in the future) I will be living in a house simmilar to the Philip Johnssons Glass House http://philipjohnsonglasshouse.org/history/ , except it would not be just one block, but few of them intersected and piled upon each other. This will make a room for the rooftop gardens, in which I will grow my own food, letting the vines of the grape-vine slide down the glass… Continue

Future without money!

"We are proud to present you a new community project. Future wothout money!"

These were the words of the mayor of Nitra. He announced this as beign part of the project "For our people" which aims to make Nitra more self-sufficient and independent. So far we have seen succesfull projects to improve agriculture and energetic supply and information network of this fast growing town.

The idea is that for people living in Nitra, the products…

Food around here

I live in Slovakia. As part of the central Europe (yes, we were part of eastern block, but really, it is central Europe) the food security is not as big issue around here, as in other places. You dont see people suffering from hunger on a daily basis. So I think my country has the food supply pretty much covered, as far as quantity is concerned.

And that is where the real problem lies. We were strong agricultural country once and it has been part of culture, but nowadays it…

Community centre garden

In our town, we have a little community centre located in one of the urban neighbourhoods. The purpose of this centre is to create a place for community projects, which the people from around the neighbourhood come up with. So far its efforts arent that visible and they are mainly concentrating on the very poor and homeless, which is great of course, but these people are on average older and missing that spark, that is needed in order to come up with something new.
So my idea is this. There…

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
