Summary of my gaming experience

I played EVOKE within a seminar at my university. Therefor the questions which I answered differ from questions that are requested within the mission. But they seem really similar so I think that shouldn´t be a problem.

What positive experience did you gain by playing EVOKE?

To me the wh*** EVOKE website left a pretty positive impression right after seeing it the first time. The website was designed with much care and the missions which were put in… Continue

How Do People React In A Pandemic

The most important point for me is how people would react in case of a Pandemic. Why it
caught my attention is that it discribes how people react in emergencies and in how many
stages this reaction is divided. In addition to that he explains the difference between panic and
denial.
In my opinion this is the most important part, because you only can reconsider your actions
and keep a clear head by knowing your personal reaction in cases of emergency.

Ten Years From Now

In 10 years I plan to live with my kids and my wife in a plus energy saving house which is

powered by a decentralized home power plant or even solar energy. Surplus energy will be

stored.

The exit from nuclear energy is due soon. Therefor the change to renewable energies and the

expansion of mains are nearly completed.

Also, if there is nothing going to change concerning educational policy within the next few

years then my children won´t be able to get a good… Continue

COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES

The story I chose was published by the Department of Economics, University of Antananarivo. The study deals with the communication between local institutions like landowners and leaders of projects who are planning on developing countries which in the end should improve the methods of natural resources management but rarely does.

Project agents often are exploiting countries to their advantage regardless of its inhabitants.

To give but one exmaple the study refers to two ethnic… Continue

pandemic = crisis

Next to natural disasters a pandemic is the threat that may crush the human civilization most

likely. Bacteria are getting more and more resistant because of our intensive use of antibiotics

as well as viruses which caused by the mutations can get much more dangerous and even fatal

than former strains.

Furthermore the air traffic benefits a quick global spread of diseases.

In case of a pandemic I would distribute the symptoms and type of transmission in… Continue

Progress for girls in Northern Ethiopia

The article I chose deals with the declared end of female circ**cision in two districts called

Amibara and Awash-Fentale District in northern Ethiopia.

After 10 years of fighting against female genital cutting in both districts the efforts of

religious and clan leaders, local government officials, former circ**cisers under the lead of

the UNICEFs joint programme finally payed out.

Female circ**cision was oficially dismissed in abandonement ceremonies where… Continue

KIVA - micro credit

I decided to donate 25US $ through the micro loan portal www.kiva.org. By their help I am
supporting a young person from Lebanon who is going to finance his university education by
the money from that micro credit.

For me these micro credits are a good way to support people in developing countries and to
ensure their businesses and education.

Waterschool - Learn to disinfect water

The project I choose is called waterschool. Their aim is to make sure that countries which are located near the equator can be supplied with clean and healthy water in a sustainable way. For that the program distributes PET bottles which after standing in the sun for one day will clear the water inside from all potentially infectious micro-organisms. This way to disinfect water is called SODIS (Solar Disinfection). In addition to that the program also teaches how to keep the high health and… Continue

EWS Schönau – rebels of power

The power station Schönau is a company that was formed by a citizen´s initiative which meanwhile provides low-priced electricity out of renewable energies all over Germany. This electricity is mostly gained from hydropower.

Originally the initiative was founded in times after the reactor catastrophe of Chernobyl. From that point their aim was to impliment an ecological energy supply. After a few difficulties the initiative managed to buy the local power companies power supply system… Continue

Stop talking. Start planting.

I chose the thirteen years old Felix Finkbeiner as my hero. Together with his two siblings he founded the student initiative „Plant-for-the-Planet“. The initiatives aim is to plant a billion of trees all around the world. By now they already planted 4 million trees. That´s why they are on a good way.

Together with his initiative Felix Finkbeiner impressively proves what can be reached with the help of passion and commitment for a Good Cause.

Meanwhile children from more than 90… Continue

IMAGINE2 - Dinner 2020

Finally finished another hard day in the office. On my way home I am meeting my wife in a restaurant for dinner. On the menu there are many vegetarian dishes. Meat is getting more and more expensive over the last few years and nothing to be eaten everyday. Because of former emerging countries like China or India developing into industrial nations the demand for meat is increasing to such an extend that it can´t be fully supplied anymore. Nowadays fresh vegetables is enjoyed being eaten. Ranging… Continue

Find the right people – then LISTEN!

My favorite secret „Listen to the right people"

It´s so important to recognize and to understand problems before trying to solve them. As far as I am concerned the right way is to talk to affected persons first. They can tell firsthand about their kind of problems, by what they are caused and how they may be solved.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
