My Urgent Evoke Heroes

After seeing a couple people, like Agent Ternura posting their list of 5 evoke heroes I though that I would create a list as well. Conversation and debate increases awareness of issues as well as gets the participants closer to the truth. To have a meaningful conversation there needs to a disagreement, my list of Evoke Heroes are all agents that have encouraged dialogue by presenting views that were counter to… Continue

Evoke Manifesto

We are the young, the fearless, the new. You; lie, cheat, steal, dirty our waters, pollute our air, take--and give nothing back. This has been your world, but that is going to change. We are going to make it change. We are EVOKE and this is our Manifesto.

We will fix this world that you have so ignorantly destroyed. We will share ideas, resources, time and wealth to those who need it most. We will collaborate in such numbers that the very ground will shake. You will see our deeds and… Continue

Evoke 2.0 (Learn10)

While EVOKE is an amazing initiative for next season there needs to be some serious updates.

  • Instant messaging needs to be an internal service, communication via emails is like using letters in a world with the telephone
  • File Storage - A place to keep your work in progress
  • Private blogs - If you want to promote creativity sometimes what you need is a closed door
Overall EVOKE2.0 should have a stronger focus on collaboration regardless of the… Continue

Boy Scouts HOOOOO!

When called to organize a group for the 2011 pandemic I would use a strong talented group that I am member of: Boy Scouts of America

The Boy Scouts of America is a strong organization that educates young men on: survival, life saving, team work, resourcefulness and community service. The boy scouts would be an ideal resource to tap into in case of a dire emergency and my rank as Eagle would give me the prestige within the community to mobilize such an effort. What would make the scouts… Continue

Want to get angry?

this movie changed my life, or at least my perception of other human beings. It also makes me very, very angry.

Predicable Panic Learn9

While reading the Nieman Guide to covering pandemics, specifically, "coming to terms with uncertainty" I was interested in what was said regarding this:

"The facts and the scientific basis for each of these is the same, and the uncertainty is the same. But scientists have the luxury and also the duty of reserving…

On my death bed

I am 23 now so in 77 years 2087 I will be 100. That is a long time spent

on this earth. Seeing the telescoping rate at which our civilizations

are accelerating it is impossible to predict what life will be like. We

might be cyborgs or genetically altered, we could be a race of floating

brains in space. Will the knowledge that I have even be worth sharing?

Will it be applicable? Certainly my advice on graphic design won't, how

about on relationships? The human… Continue

Aborigonal Religious Sites (act 8)

I decided to record three essential Australian Aboriginal religious

sites onto a wooden box that I made.

The central image that covers the top is of Uluru or Ayers Rock. Uluru

is believed to be a great snake that came down from the cosmos. "This is

Uluru's symbol of the Great Rainbow Snake ( a symbol of

fertility.) This is shaped like a horseshoe when set on its side with

the open end to the left. The lower part of the U undulates and is then

said to be… Continue

Culture heratige and the mist of time

Michele sent me this interesting video,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYX6wwtgwFg

It briefly doc**ents the Yami people, "an indigenous Polynesian tribe on the island of Lanyu, 70 miles east off Taiwan" The video starts by showing how the Yami people to survive the strong winds built their houses below ground, which is pretty interesting. Then the focus of the piece becomes how the number of Yami people are… Continue

The future is unclear

When considering the food of the future I really am having a hard time predicting what will happen. There are two trends that I can foresee becoming dominant philosophies; lab synthesized food which is cheap to produce and supplies all of the nutrients our bodies require, and mass local farming initiatives that seek to put rich natural foods on every plate.

Surprising I don't actually have a preference and since the two philosophies are not mutually exclusive what might happen is a… Continue

Charity Water

My act 4 was to promote Charity Water to my network as well as this one.

In blogs like this one, I talk about what I believe makes Charity Water successful and why they should continue to be supported.

The result of all this campaigning is that my friends and I started a fund to try and fund the drilling of a well. I don't know if it will… Continue

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

The meal

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Foods are vacc** sealded for easy…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
