Innovation Act

The person I picked as a hero might not sound like a hero to most of us. But for me, he opened a world of possibilities for the garden.

His name is Lee Reich.

The first I heard from him was a recommandation from amazon.ca of one of his books. The title made me curious. Uncommon Fruits For Every Garden. "Fine," I thought, "I guess these must be great to grow in California or something like that." I was wrong. Most of them are for our northern…

Favorite secrets, innovation chapter

I have 2 :

Share knowledge and skills to continue the innovative process both to and from people and communities.

Peripheral vision; keep a look out for other challenges or new solutions all the time.

I choose these 2 because they are interlinked. I share my knowledge but always hope people will share theirs.

I'm always on the lookout to improve my way of living with new ideas and means to reuse or…

Innovation for 2020

Food crisis... I frankly hope we'll never get there, but what would we do?

This is my personnal experience. If you want something you can participate in, get to the next Bold text, down.

I'm starting to work on the problem now and improving my solution a little bit more each year. What am I doing? A garden to complement what could become hard to get. The problems are multiple however. In Canada, the seasons to tend for a garden makes it hard to…

Solar power talk

What can you do with solar power?

Oh but so much. Here, I'm mainly interested of talking about what it can do on a small scale and that can be bought by anybody for a reasonnable price. Maybe 2 years ago I dotted my house with solar powered light. Today, you have them in all manner of color and variety. I have about 8 garden LED lights, all powered by the sun. They eat the sun up in the day and voilà! Light up at dusk until about 10-11 PM at night. The lights are pretty soft and blue…

Holiday of 2020

The holiday would be christmas. Here in Canada it means snow and cold. A lot of both. Oh and the sun sets down pretty early. So I will need heat and light.

I am going on a limb here and hope that in 10 year's time (my son will be 12) I will have a small house in the forest not too close to the neighbors. I will also give all my efforts to make it self-efficient in terms of energy, maybe solar power on the roof (if the trees permit) or wind power, again above the trees. I would…

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
