Water crisis

A crisis that I think that our community might face in the future is that of a water crisis or even an electricity crisis. lately, we've been experiencing a lot of electricity cut-offs as well as water cut-offs, so i think that will be the worst problems that we will face in the near future. there has been talk about foreign substances in the water and that Eskom is or has been experiencing problems so i think that to be more aware of whats happening, one needs to witness what is going on at…

What are their lives like in 2020?

When i donated books as well as other items to the girls back in 2010, i kept in contact with them and as the years passed on, i still managed to help them with things that they needed especially when it came to their educational needs. their lives have been much better ever since and they are all educated today, and some are even working.

Empowering a girl/women through education

In last week i visited the daycare center in my area and asked the supervisor there if there was anything that the kids needed, especially the girls who still attended school. He explained to me that they do have many sponsors but anything that anyone can help with is always appreciated. So i got together with my family and discussed what i wanted to do and they glady agreed to help in any way. All the girls attended the same school so i decided to help them buy stationery and books etc that…

Empowering women through sport

the news story from Women, gender, and equality is an inspiring story since it explains that many women are more likey to benefit and be inspired through sport rather than other forms of inspirations. many women achieved different achievements in the past and they still due but faced many barriers of discriminations and racial aspects. but they still carried on. Most of the benefits faced by these women because they were inspired through sport or physical activity were that not many women were… Continue

My own exchange system

The exchange system that i tried using while keeping the future of money in mind was where i tried keeping my old clothes (but still usable) and other old items until i feel that an exchange will be good, then i go to a second-hand shop and exchange the items for almost new clothes or i receive a small monetary exchange, but it is not always much.

i enjoyed this form of exchange and it is basically just like the barter system where people exchange goods of almost the same…

The future of money

i think that the best way to prepare oneself in preparing to have a good future with money is to be educated about it. i think that it just comes down to where u come from and how you've been exposed to money. if you have been brought up with no problems and having access to everything then it won't be that difficult to get what you want, but i think that having less money or being brought up with less money than others, you will learn in more than one way how to save and how to work better…

Inspiring the Youth on water safety

Water 1st’s mission is to serve families in the poorest communities in the world as they implement community-managed projects that integrate water supply, sanitation, and health education. i thought that this movement is a good one as it teaches, not only our adults but our youth on how to save water and how they could use it more wisely. it is more important for the poorer communities to be educated on this and it is also important for them to be provided with clean water facilities - as it is… Continue

Power Player in Port Elizabeth

PE is always referred to as the Windy City because wind alsways travels at extremely high speeds. The first producer of wind turbines in South Africa is therefore located in the Windy City of Africa. Wind power is an interesting energy and also referred to as an alternative energy source. There were also alternative energies such as coal and oil, but as it is getting more expensive these days, wind has become the best alternative for energy.

The turbines are designed to…

Imagining my future meal

It is the year 2020 and i am sitting at the dining table, having a delicious plate of pasta - macaroni and cheese that I have specially cooked for my family. I bought the needed ingredients from the grocery store nad as i was preparing the meal, i knew that it was going to taste superb!

As i sat down and after i said a thank-you prayer, i had my first taste and it tasted great!

i imagine my family enjoying the meal just as much.

Take action

i think that in order to help - even one person - I could take a few people who are willing to help as well with me and go to their area and take food like soup and bread. Another idea is that i could teach them how to do subsistence farming right in their backyards so that it is accessible to them as well as others whom they are also willing to help. in this way i won't be just helping one person but more than one.

Imagining myself in the year 2020

Alchemy calls me and i think to myself, how am i going to help the food shortage in Tokyo? first thing that came to mind was that i have to "think like a child" - meaning that i shouldn't allow myself to limit what i am going to think about if i want to save the crisis. so i will allow all options to take part to help me and look at all the possible solutions to this problem and start from the first one.

My social innovator - Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan

i have chosen Queen Rania of Jordan as my social innovator, as I think that what she did was very brave in promoting education for all and it was to benefit many children who are not as fortunate as us to have easy access to education. The university is the Arab Open University. I intend to keep in touch with her via facebook.
