A case study of how villagers are preserving sacred groves(devara kadu) in Kodagu, Karnataka.
Personally speaking I am all for preserving the sacred groves because of the ecodiversity and the medicinal plants etc, but I sure wish all these villagers would come out of the trap of all their money going for so called…

I know the location of a time capsule in my home town that is to be opened the year I turn 100. I would be present for the opening of it. And in fact, some time in advance I would tell the city about it so they will have all the equipment necessary to break open the sidewalk, under which it is located. I will then go through the stuff inside with…

The Ushahidi Engine is a platform that allows anyone to gather
distributed data via SMS, email or web and visualize it on a map or
timeline. Our goal is to create the simplest way of aggregating

I would suggest to Living Water International that they create a blog. I love blogs. I think they are great for wanting to connect with an organization or person on a bit more intimate level (as intimate as it can be over a computer screen). A blog that is updated weekly with news and updates would be great. While news…

I don't know how to make a map online...so I'm just going to describe my city. My city is going to have a suburban area and urban area. In the suburban area, there will be large houses and stores with specialty goods. In the urban area is where everyone works and all the different businesses, schools, etc. are. I am OBSESSED with craigslist. No joke. I'm on their buying and selling ALL the time! I think it would be awesome to have craigbucks. I don't think it's that farfetched either. It's similar to the concept of PayPal. My husband sells tons of music equipment on eBay and keeps his money in PayPal, then when he wants to purchase, just uses the PayPal…

I decided to try and be a "farmpunk" and did some research on how to grow our own food. I have a friend that is really into this. She and her husband have a lot of school debt (he is becoming a Dr.) and they have two small kids with a third on the way. She stays home and is the ultimate homemaker. She makes all the kids clothes, gardens, harvests and cooks. Nothing goes to waste. Everything is organic. I found this process quite intriguing. So, along with her and some research I did on the…
