Online Solutions Architecture

Bill McKibben and 350.org have called for an international work day to stop climate change on October 10, 2010. I have proposed to him that there should 350.org should provide an online solutions architecture in order to promote and support those practical demonstrations of climate solutions on October 10 and to make sure they continue after that day.

350.org has already…

SeeSaw Pump and Sodis

Gaviotas, Colombia has a seesaw pump that is similar to the PlayPump

They also have developed a pump that can increase the depth from which water can be pumped.

Sodis is a method of solar disinfecting water using simple recycled, clear plastic PET bottles. Fill the bottles with low turbidity water, expose them to sunlight for…

Small Scale Solar

I've been using affordable solar electricity in my life for the past four or five years. My bedroom is essentially off-grid with solar LED lights that charge in my south-facing window and a solar/dynamo radio that I had modified to charge AA batteries as well. My backpack has two solar LED lights that I use when riding at night, a flashing red LED and a steady white LED that velcroes to my helmet.

Based upon my experience, I've tried to convince people that small scale…

Solar Cookers and Bicycles

What Ethan Zuckerman says about the limitations of solar cookers is true but….

If people stir their stews and thus can’t really use solar cookers (I’m not sure he’s actually confirmed this…

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
