I think there is not much more that Urgent Evoke could cover. Urgent Evoke has done a wonderful job of getting a huge amount of information to people all over the world. They maybe could include information on global climate issues next time. Talking about global warming and the affects it will have later on. I also think they could talk about endangered species. Those are just two ideas. I think I will try and get some of my friends and family to start playing the game next season it is so…

NO MORE MONEY!!
The government has done away with money all together. The new form of currency is vouchers and this is how everyone will pay for things from now on. The government has decided that each family will get a set of vouchers in the mail each month and if you run out you will get no more until the end of…

I would call on experienced doctors to create an informational website that is accessed and gives just information about the pandemic. I really think that someone could be there to answer live questions and have a blog with examples of what is going on. So many rumors and wrong statistics get put out there during a pandemic and creating a site and news media with only true and reliable information is essential during an epidemic. I would call on doctors and government officials to come up with…

I would use this tree to pass on to signify the need to keep trees around the community. I love the fact that you can still drive around the community and see old live oaks hanging over the roadways they are so beautiful and are a great part of the ecosystem. This is a secret I would love to send on to other…

The one that I picked was How Do People React in a Pandemic? This one was most interesting to me because I found interesting that they view panic as better than denial. When people initially react to finding out about a pandemic the become aware of a risk and then overreact. They say the knee-jerk reaction of overreacting early to a potential crisis is extremely useful. We want people to have a reaction earlier than later. The main problem that I found interesting is that they talk about denial…

In the year 2084 I want to pass on how important the trees are in the community of Friendswood and League City. I know by then the urbanization of the community is going to be overwhelming and many trees are going to be destroyed for Housing but hopefully the beautiful oak trees will be maintained. I have always admired that there are certain places in the community that no one has allowed people to get rid of. This is a message that I would pass on to the next generation. There is nothing like…

This case illustrates that the outward similarities of the eastern Caribbean small-scale fisheries can be deceptive if important social and economic differences are not taken into account. Particularly noticeable is the difference between Barbados and its neighbours. In Barbados the incremental process of creating conditions for community-based management has been slow due to…

I think something that would happen in our community in the future is a Category 5 hurricane. Ike was a perfect example of how a hurricane can cause devastation in our area. Ushahidi could be used to communicate where people are stranded and share pictures and stories of what is occurring while and after the hurricane occurs. I think this program that was developed by the African community is a very helpful to tool to share what is going on your community with the rest of the world. I do…

I could only hope that in the year 2020 that women equality will be something like overcoming racism and prejudice in our country. Women need to know that they have equal rights to vote, to have food, to have an education and to be able to do whatever a man can do. Here in the United States we have done a good job in making women feel powerful and allowing them the same opportunity as men do. In the year 2020 women of other countries will have access to education and can become whatever they…

I was really inspired by the effort to raise only 30 dollars for 500 bricks to build one classroom wall for a new girl's science lab in Uganda. I let my friend know about this and how easy it is to raise 30 dollars so in an effort to do this we are going to do a garage sale this weekend and see if how much money we can raise and then try and donate it to a cause for empowering women. I think through urgent evoke it has made me aware of how easy it really is to help women in other countries…

I went to the women watch website and picked an article about the women hunger issue going on around the world. The article titled World Hunger Journey Day 7: Empower Women, Change the World. The woman activist in the article has taken a 7 day journey where she limited her calories to 1000 calories a day and realizes what is does to the human body, and most women are not even getting those thousand calories a day. The article gives several statistics on how women around the world are going…

Something that I did this week was to barter with a friend of mine. Our family owns a hair salon and I needed to see my chiropractor so we decided to trade services. I said we could do her hair free of charge if we could exchange the services. She agreed so we did her hair for free and she allowed me to get chiropractic service for free. I think this could be something that would be affective in the future exchanging different services for other trades it worked in the old days it could work…

I really liked the Do-It-Yourself currency website article. It talks about producing "Complimentary Currency" which when used can only be used for certain things and used at different places with only that form of currency. An example that they gave was in China a company QQ allowed customers to pay on their website with a made up currency called QQ coins it produced almost a billion dollars a year in transactions. Another example was cell phone minutes swapping like a person with extra minutes…

I think that my idea is a stretch but would be very interesting. I think it would be cool to arrange for everyone to get in lines to drink from a well set up in certain areas of the city. To show people and make them aware of what other countries have to deal with waiting in lines to get clean water. Kind of like the toliet line and make people aware of different ways that people are coming up with sanatizing water. I particulary like the idea about the merry-go-round and the kids to play while…

I really liked how informative the website and organization of the waterproject.org was. I think what they are doing is great. They are trying to collect money for building wells all over poverty stricken areas. The only thing I could tell any programs that are trying to fund well projects is to make it more known around the world. You only hear about things like this when some benefit is happening on TV or it's in the news. I really don't hear about it enough there should be more to be said…

I researched water.org and found some great information. I looked up information on Ethopia and I did not realize that the women of that community walk close to 6 hours to collect water out of unprotected ponds and shallow wells. The unprotected ponds are usually shared with animals and become easily infected with unsanitory conditions. The women then will carry close to 40lb buckets back to their village that may or may not be sanitory to consume. Water.org is creating wells that are dug into…

I really think that windmills are the wave of the future. We have a ton of them helping to power northern Texas and the panhandle. I have heard that they are expensive to build and it takes quite a few of them to power a wh*** grid but I would hope coupled with solar energy that this will be the wave of the near future. Solar energy has really taken off and I would hope that my house in the year 2020 will have a solar panel on the roof that helps produce electricity. Hopefully they will have…

I remember the old science project where you attach lemons all together to wires that make a charge and produce electricity. That is the only thing I could think of that I could use to maybe power a computer, but that would probably take a wh*** lot of lemons, so maybe just a light for now. Like the light that I use to read my book at night or maybe the light in my bathroom that I use to get ready in the morning. It is really hard to think about how much we take advantage of electricity in the…
