SOLAR AID is a fit case for volunteering

After going through the following story, I have decided to propagate the idea of SOLAR AID team......

The extended rainy season finally appears to be relenting. This is great news for us since many rural roads have been impassable lately. The clinics and schools we evaluate and install with solar power are in the shadow of development and extremely hard to reach at the best of times.…

Electricity saved is electricity generated

I was scratching my head to do something new in order to complete my ACT3 in Power Shift. I was about to give up when I found my wife is in kitchen and has lightened a bulb for proper visibility. In fact, the kitchen is placed in such a way that the light is blocked and… Continue

Here is a success story in energy

I got the following success story in energy. Hope EVOKErs will find it useful. Thanks.....

Delta-Montrose Electric Association Home Energy Makeover Contest: Many of us braved this winter by slipping on gloves to keep our fingers warm as we dutifully wrote a check to the utility company. As energy rates continue to climb, is there really anything we can do but pay bigger utility bills?

What about…

Phosphorus scarcity vis-a-vis urban food growing solution

This blog is the result of demand from some of my EVOKEr friend who wanted my opinion on urban food growing solution in view of phosphorus scarcity (both in terms of availability in soil as well as market). Here I go…..…

Converting Light Spectra into DC Electricity Using Solar Antennas

I was going through lot of current ideas of electricity generation. Suddenly, I could come across this one submitted by Beckerjon. Hope all will find it useful.

Causes and management of soil acidification

Acid soils can be naturally occurring, however, a number of agricultural practices have expanded the areas of such soils. Main causal factors include crop offtake of basic ions and use of fertilizers those leave acidic residues. Leaching of nitrate also results soil acidity. Nitrate is infinitely soluble in water and leaches below the root zone at a…

Irrigation induced soil degradation

Non-judicious use of irrigation water irrespective of its quality leads to soil salinization and sodification. Continuous acc**ulation of salts in root zone results into soil salinization. These salts may come from irrigation water, mineral dissolution, precipitation, capillary rise or all of these. The process of sodification…

Soil acidification-A brief

The process of increase in the ratio of hydrogen and aluminum ions in comparison to basic cations within the soil resulting in the adverse effects on root growth and metabolism of plant is called soil acidification. The problem is more prevalent in the uplands. Poor organic matter content of the soil results in low pH buffering…

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More
