A crash course in changing the world.
Scene one.
Sun rises over a valley full of houses.
Close up on two elderly people sitting on a park bench on the top of a hill next to it.
Their faces carved from live. Wisdom and experience in them
Coming up the hill in a convertible are two young men (25-30 years), suited up, ready to go to work.
They bring food for the elderly, they are probably relatives.
The elderly mutter thanks and begin to talk about back when...

Where will the journey go?
Of course, there's still need for action in the places we've investigated in the last ten weeks, and - of course - there are thousands more to be solved. What is important now?
For me, I think, it's extremely important to get a solution and an awareness for what happens to elderly people in the communities all over the world. Many of them won't be able to feed themselves because of economical issues, though medicine and technologies allow us to live…

I picked a cross country water case.
The objective was to teach "water keepers" in areas that had no water supply how to take care of their sources. One of them said:
"The knowledge we gain from this research is much more valuable than gifts. It is something that we keep for life"
http://srdis.ciesin.org/cases/cross-cultural-001.html (The outcome)
I think, this is what we're after, when gaining and…

The most likely natural crisis in our town to happen is a flooding, as we are positioned next to a river. In Spring and Autumn it happens sometimes that heavy rainfall causes flooding and therefore traffic jams. By using Ushahidi we could tell our community, where roads are blocked and can show alternative routes around the blocked road.

In the last year, we've seen what effect a rise of women can have, when we looked at Egypt.
I know, there's probably not been to much change after the revolution, but there was a change made by women standing up.
Now women in Haiti face a situation that is not similar on first sight. But there are some basic points that are the same:
a) the countries were shaken (by revolution in Egypt and by flooding in Haiti)
b) the women's situation is not likely to get better…

M-Pesa in Kenya was and still is a great success. It revolutionizes the use of money, because there is no cash involved and it's all more personalized.
It's also a disruptive technology, because it's taking away the middle man in the payment processes (--> the bank) Payments get more easy and direct. The value of the amount is not important.

I was impressed by the Living Machine.
Their website explains the technical side of it very precise:
http://www.livingmachines.com/about/how_it_works
What inspired me the most can be summed in three points:
First:
The system is tackling a problem - water shortage - at it's first world root. The waste of water and how water is not reused.
Second:
How they do it appeals to me because it's…

My Idea for the world water day would be very simple:
I suggest to make it a traffic free day. Worldwide. And then use the highways/ autobahnen as a water channel for "living water" like back in the 60's and 70' when people formed protest lines all across the country on highways. But this time, everybody should be dressed in blue of any kind. And, if they want they can use some blue banners etc. so that we can have streams of living water worldwide.

In 2020 a very special day I celebrate could be my brothers wedding day.
We'll start with a wedding service in the morning. It's a sunny day, the band gets the power for the speakers by the solar cells on the roof of the church.
The way from the church to the celebrating location can be passed on foot or by horsecart.
We'll celebrate in a building near a lake, somewhere in Germany. The place will be lit by hydrokinetic power, which is the most steady way to generate…

Surfing through the web searching for "creative sustainable energy" I found Hydropower.
Hydropower is in itself a very old idea that's already used today, but in the wrong way. So it got revolutionized.
Before, Hydropower was only known from big dams, bringing great problems with it like flooding of neighborhoods etc.
Today there's been a change in the technology, now people are using "hydrokinetic energy" meaning they are harvesting the energy of floating…

I've been thinking about this task the wh*** week and found it very hard to write anything about food security in our community because there is obviously enough for everybody. But then I remembered an action day we're about to have in a few weeks. There is an institution in Lauf that is called: "Die Tafel". It's purpose is to give homeless and poor people the opportunity to buy food for very low prices, so they can have something to eat.
The problem is: It's alway hard for them to…

Ten years from now it'll be April 2022.
I'll be living in a small house in southern France, about five kilometers away from the coast. Somewhere in the Alpes Maritimes. My electric car is fully loaded and I'm ready to go to Cannes where my workspace is. Arriving there, I'll update with my contacts worldwide. My family in Germany, my friends and business contacts in Senegal, Iran, USA, China. Besides of sharing news, I'm a freelancer on objectives like promoting greener energy in…

After searching the given pages, I decided to shadow the makers of "dirtpower", because I believe, that the idea has the potential to change our thinking about energy in general.
To put the idea in a nutshell:
Africa doesn't actually have a problem with generating enough energy. The problem is just, that it can't be supplied everywhere. So cellphone owners in small villages can use the device created by the dirtpower"-crew.
The device will be linked to dirt and suck the…
