Indigenous Knowledge - IMAGINE8

When I am 100 years old I will share my wisdom of recycling not just bottles and cans but various materials. Although it is often easier to "just buy a new one" or throw out something that breaks I will encourage my successors to try and reuse resources and supplies whenever possible to reduce wasteful resource use.

I chose to evaluate "Restoring Local Community Participation in Wetland Resource Management: A Bangladesh Case Study". In this case study, "The Initial Situation is that apart from habitat destruction, one of the main problems facing the management of most freshwater wetlands in the country is that the fisheries resources have largely fallen into the hands of the elite : wealthy and the politically well-connected. This process, whereby local fishermen are (sometimes forcefully) divorced from…

Crisis Networking - IMAGINE9

If the next pandemic flu was reaching my part of the world I would organize all of the city's transportation works in an online site. This would allow for them to be contacted if there were sick individuals that had no means of physically going to get medical treatment. The drivers could be provided masks and sterile buses to transport the patients in therefore freeing ambulances for other medical emergencies.

Crisis Networking - LEARN9

I believe that coming to terms with uncertainty was not only surprising but important because once people recognize that some things are uncertain. We can work together to better understand uncertain event instead of working individually to predict the event ourselves. This secret of crisis communication also provided the idea that if a crisis such as infectious disease outbreak were to occur, it’s possible to report on infectious disease outbreaks without being a graduate-trained scientist.…

Urban Resilience - LEARN7

Living on the Gulf of Mexico, Red Tide is a yearly crisis. It kills thousands of sea creatures each year. In 2013, a record high number of manatees perished due to red tide causing them to have seizures. According to an article found in the Bradenton Herald, the only way the manatees can survive is through human intervention during the seizure that prevents the manatees from drowning. The coasts of Florida could use Ushahidi to share information about the algae blooms and work together to…

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
