Endangered Species List

Here is a list of endangered species I found, Click Here

Its sad that it is this long. I wasn't really expecting a list this big. I guess I was only aware of the popular animals on the list.

Imagine2 - A Rustic Meal in the Future

I eat what I want. That's what we set our powers to years ago during the Evoke, and we made this possible.

The population in Western society had been devastated with an overload in prepared foods and cured meats, chalk full of preservatives and hormones. Despite the information they KNEW back then, it took them this long to do something about it. I am not going to pretend like everything is A-OK now, but at least I eat what I want. I am about to sit down to a rustic meal from my… Continue

The Short Story I wrote for the new Quest.

The clock says 6 a.m., dammit I overslept again. Today is an important day after all, I am going to meet with other Evokers for the first time since Urgent Evoke had started. It was about a year ago this day, we agreed after all the discussion was over we would finally meet up to combine our thoughts into one great collaboration of atoms. A sacrifice this big has never been made before, all these great minds giving up everything to pursue the causes we had all once just talked about. I am going… Continue

Liberal or Conservative

I was wondering if it would be possible to get a Poll to see how many people on Urgent Evoke are more liberal or conservative.

I think it would be really interesting to see. If we could get a consensus on which test to use and maybe post the results, I can tabulate them on excel and get a nice bar graph going to see the distribution.

First step is to find a reliable test. Any suggestions?

Idea for Conservation of Energy

Awhile ago I had seen a special on TV about a new way to conserve energy on highways, then I found this.

It got me wondering what else could be done to conserve energy on our roads and highways. And although I have the idea, I am not sure how it could be done. Anyway, essentially there is a lot of energy lost when breaking down a large hill with any vehicle (although hybrids take advantage of… Continue

Simon's Challenge - Let's Work Together

Hi Everyone,

Earlier I was challenged in my Learn1 blog post.

Simon Brookes

"You mentioned Witricity above. Maybe you can form a team focussing efforts on this type of innovation for African nations. What are the

problems? How might you implement a… Continue

Spark - A Scarce Power?

I was younger then, much younger then I am now, not that I am very old given the length of a human life. However, I didn't think much then of what I did, or how it impacted people, I just did things. I wonder what Alchemy would say about that? Nonetheless there are things that I have no recollection of, things that have happened that if you told me, I wouldn't believe you. Many blocked or forgotten events, perhaps insignificant? There is one thing I do remember vividly... it stuck with me… Continue

GAME 1 - Evoke Power Creativity

*This is a Role Playing Blog, trying to get into the "GAME" *

My mind races, it doesn't seem to ever stop! I wonder, how will I get to sleep tonight if this persists? It's just not going to happen, there is just so many things to think about, especially those ideas shared by fellow Evokers. When will I get some rest?! Perhaps I am just not tired...maybe I can write one more blog post, share another idea, but then what? I am back to where I am now, thinking about everything again. Who… Continue

Where are You From? Tell me about your town.

Hi everyone, this might serve as a cool kind of discussion where people

can visit and see what some of the evokers wrote about where they are

from. This might help see some of your ideas and how you came about

them. I guess I will start.

I come from a small city in North Western Ontario called Thunder Bay. It lies on the largest fresh water

lake in North America, Lake Superior. We have a famous landmark called

"The Sleeping Giant" It is an island that from… Continue

Act1: My Hero - Sendhil Mullainathan Behavioral Economist

I chose Sendhil Mullainathan as my hero because of a very enlightening video I had seen on TED about solving social issues with a nudge. He spoke of problems that still existed even though we had innovated ways in solving them. He called this the last mile problem. It was very influential to me.

Unfortunately, I cannot find him on twitter, but google yields a lot of information about him and in the mean time I will be learning more about Sendhil.

Learn1: Innovation - A Human Survival Tool

It seems to me that Innovation is synonymous with the term adaptation. However, the key difference to me is a simple timing issue. Adaptation implies that you wait for the change to happen, then you react to it. Whereas innovation takes a more proactive approach and responds to the change before it has happened. This to me makes it a better survival tool than adaptation. Innovation comes in many forms, but each has its role and can even be explained by Darwinism principles.… Continue

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

The meal

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Foods are vacc** sealded for easy…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
