Agua, H2O, Water!

I love water~! It's so refreshing and whenever you are thirsty its the perfect thirst quencher. Also, it's one of the few things on this world that you can't really describe its taste. Try it! I've tried many times to think of words to describe the taste of water and came up with nothing. Anyway, we all love fresh clean water. Unless you are a mutant, then it doesn't really matter to you huh? Fresh water, clean water~ I'm already getting thirsty.… Continue

My Birthday in 2020~

It's November 30th, 2020. It's my 28th birthday and I'm celebrating with my family and friends. We decided to hang around a park and have a BBQ. It's just how we do. Now, to make it ecologically friendly, we have decided to use... BUM BUM BUM SOLAR POWERED GRILLS! Ya baby! Thats how we roll. It's pretty much the only "advancement" we used. We don't eat much, and we'd much rather hang around the park.

Power!

Hmm, an invention to power something I already use everyday. Well, I use a lot of electricity. Playing video games for hours, going on my computer for hours on end, and using the lights around my house for -you guessed it- hours on end. I am an energy drainer, and I'm not proud of it. I tend to be sort of conscious about how I use my energy but its hard when everything is just so simple to use. If everything is right there, you never think about how it might be when its not. So I'm thinking,… Continue

Social Entrepeneurs

http://www.icmrindia.org/casestudies/catalogue/Leadership%20and%20Entrepreneurship/LDEN067.htm Fabio Rosa was given awards for his work on providing rural families in Brazil access to electricity. Almost 25 million people in Brazil suffered from not having access to electricity, most of them living in rural areas. This guy is pretty cool, and should be watched in time to see other ways… Continue

Equal Opportunities

If I had the money, I would so donate the $54 so 2 women can attend cla**** and learn a skill trade. On the site, http://www.globalgiving.org/projects/support-women-empowerment-kosovo/ , it says "By helping to educate women in Kosovo about business, religious and

racial tolerance, and how to work together as one, women can become

beacons of resolve in their country."

I think this is very… Continue

My Home-Grown Garden

Yep, I've been doing this since I was little. And it's all thanks to my dad. See, I have a sort of a garden in my home, its by the drive way and every year I plant tomato seeds. These seeds then grow into amazing tomato plants. I'm always amazed to see what a little hard work can do. If I'm not able to water my plants, then my dad waters them for me. He is great and always willing to help me with my garden. I then later use the tomatoes to make sauce for my spaghetti. Love it!

Shadows

So the social innovator I'm choosing to shadow is Deb Levine. I chose her because I think it is interesting that she is trying to promote sexual health. She uses the internet, cell phones and other forms of media to give people convenient access to information on critical health issues. Since my school has blocked anything related to "Sexual Education" I can only shadow her at home. See the current projects she is doing by going on her website: http://isis-inc.org/.

My dinner~

Its currently March 10, 2020. Again, by this time I'll be 27, and hopefully living on my own~! I am living in my apartment in Queens, and its time for dinner. I am eating by myself, I am a very solitary person when I get home so I enjoy the quiet time. I learned to cook a variety of meals by myself ever since I first moved out. I get my food from the nearby supermarket. I don't name my dishes anything, I don't go so far as to call them anything. I just cook to not starve. The dish that I am… Continue

Food Insecurity?

When I walk the streets of my neighborhood I am not really faced with people who suffer from hunger. Most of the time, I see how people suffer from hunger on the news or online. I do think about it at times, about how it seems unfair that most people don't appreciate the food they have while others barely have enough food to survive them the week. It is a really depressing thought, and I've always wanted to see an end to famine all around the world.…

In 10 Years...

In ten years I will be 27 years old. It's crazy how long that seems from now! In 2020, I have no idea where I'll be living. Hopefully, I wont have a definite home. I'll have a couple of homes or apartments in several countries. I'm not saying I'm going to be rich in 10 years, because that is definitely not happening so soon. But I already have a couple of homes, one in South America and another in Spain. Also, I would have made a couple of friends by now so I hope they would be kind enough to… Continue

Innovation

My favorite innovation secret is the one Ethan Zuckerman stated:
  1. Innovation (often) comes from constraint (If you’ve got very few resources, you’re forced to be very creative in using and reusing them.)
This is actually completely true. If you have only the bare minimum of what you're used to, you're definitely going to find a way to make something out of nothing. Having few resources actually makes you think about what you are going to do with them. Are you going to use them… Continue

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

The meal

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
