I´m really pleased that you all come to hear my wisdom. I know that old people use to talk long, endless stories about former times and how bad thinks have become. I will try to talk as short as possible to you. In fact a lot of thinks have changed. But not all of them became worse. The protection of our environment improve. The harmful emissions decreased and more tham 90 per cent of our electricity is produced by renewable erergys.
Nevertheless I have…

The most world changing incidents in the last monthes were the revolutions in North Africa. After these revolutions there are so many open questions that need to be solved: How can the wemen get enpowered? How to instal democratic structures and what should these structurs look like? How can these countries handle the problems that come with refugees? What about seperation between religion and state?…

The pandamic has come unexpected and fast. Nobody knows exactly where it come´s from, but it is very infectious. Nearly the wh*** area is in quarantine. The people aren´t allowed to leave their houses.
The supply of food/water and the provision of medical care are running well and are good organized by the local government.
So the most important problem during a crisis seemed to be solved. But there is still a group of human we should think about in a different way: Children. They…

During a crisis the power of journalists is really immense. They can influence the behaviour of the people positivly or even negativly. That is why "Managing Panic in a Pandemic" is the most important secret in my opinion. There it is mentioned what power journalists have and how they can help activly managing a crisis.
When I was thinking about journalism, usually the duty of information came to my mind. But this secret make me think about the critical role journalist can have in a crisis…

The case study that impressed me most is the one of the "Society for the Promotion of Eco Cultural Tourism and the Environment" in Benize. The first aim of the Society is to protect the endangered Green Iguanas and their natural habitat at the area of Macal, Mopan and Belize Old Rivers. The other is a long term goal: They want to improve the quality and standart of living of the society´s members through community participation in the eco cultural tourism business.
Due to mechanize…

Due to the fact that I am living in central Germany natural disaster aren´t realy likley. The geographic location avoids most of the dangers. But I was growing up next to a nuclear power plant. The F**ujima - disaster isn´t already under control and the wohle world is still remembering the burning reactors and the awkward attempts to manage the situation. Even if it is more than unlikley that an earthquake or a Tsunami take place here, there are so many problems that can effect an nuclear…

First of all I have to say that I was supporting to establish women football coaches in Rwanda in Mission Act6. So my wh*** story is based on this project.
In 2020 the women of Rwanda are dancing in the streets. At last the men start to celebrate with them. The atmosphere is boisterious. The Rwanda women football national team reached the half finals at the world cup !
But it is far more than just a sporting success. The women national team and it´s triumphs had become a symbol…

I´m reporting about a speech delivered by UN women Executiv Director Michelle Bachelet at the High-Level Meeting on Investment and Partnerships, Global Business Partnership Forum Event, Fourth UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) in which she is criticizing the economic role of women living in these countries and is talking about concret ways, how private sector partnerships can help to improve the situation.
Women use to have poor paid jobs with bad working…

I support the project that is going to train 100 football women coaches in Rwanda. The project immediatly catched my eyes because of the women football world cup that will take place in Germany this summer. The last weeks I read a lot about that event and the status of women football in the world. Rwanda has bigger problems than the situation of women football surely but nevertheless I´m the opinion that sport can help to improve a few of them.
Especially women can gain more…

In 2020 I´m celebrating the 5th anniversary of the NAEU ( North African Energy Union)! After the agitation in a lot of North African countries in 2011 a wh*** region changed its face. New government were established in Tunesia, Lybia and Egypt and a lot of reforms took place in Marocco. To fight their economic proplems they decided to work together in certain projects. One of these projects is the NAEU, which is an organisation that represents the energy interests of the four countries and…

I decided to try out a new currancy. But it is nearly impossible to invent a currancy that is accepted by people. That is the reason why I went back to the roots and used the oldest "currancy" humans deal with: Exchange
Money has the funktion of a substitution. But money can loose its worth rapidly because of economic crisis and hyperinflation as a result like in 1929. In these cases other goods like food substitue money. After the second World War the most demanded good had been…

In my opinion the biggest change has already started. In the future there will be no hard money. All payments will be done by credit cards or similiar systems.
A lot of countries stoped the production of small hard money like the 1 or 2 cent coints and this will only be the beginning. Large amounts are already payed by credit cards or transfer form. It is an easy and comfortable way of paying. You can pay with your card in many countries without thinking about the domestic currency.…

The water crisis is not only about the scarcity of water, it is also a problem of cleanness. A problem that can even affect people in richer regions of the world. One of the biggest challenges is the pollution because of heavy metals that cause health and environmental damages. There are still methods against it, but they are expensive and complex.
Three mexican students (Adriana Alcantara Ruiz, Dalia Graciela Diaz Gomez and Carlos Hernandez Mejia) from the Cultural Institute of…

During my investigations about alternative ways of generating electricity I found a power station that was totally new for me. I´ve never heard before something about a solar updraft tower which was invented by Prof Jörg Schlaich at the University of Stuttgart. It uses the ability that warm air soar up to produce energy.
The construction is pretty simple but scarcely less brilliant.
Air gets warmed in a kind of green house and flows through a tower which is working like a big…

What will I eat in 10 years? A good question, and hard to answer, but when I remember what I was eating 10 years ago....- Honestly I have to say: Nearly the same than nowadays. But perhaps this will change during the next 10 years. It could be like that:
It´s Saturday and I wake up early in the morning. The birds are singing in the trees, while the sun is slowly rising. My wife is still sleeping and so I decide to stand up to prepare breakfast.
After going to the bathroom I walk…

I´m from Germany and fortunatly there are no real food security problems. This is caused by favourable geographic conditions, which avoid extrem climatic situations like droughts, and the fact that Germany, because of its economic relations and infrastructure, is able to import food from all over the world.
A german problem considering food is the general dealing with food. Due to have plenty of food most of the people lost the ability to appreciate it.
It is not that they don´t think…

In my opinion there are so many people in the world, which are great social innovaters and it is hard to just pick one of them as your personal hero. While I was searching for interesting projects and their initiators I found Till Behnke, who is one of the founders of
www.betterplace.org, a website that spotlights different social projects all over the world. There are all kinds of projects in every kind of size.

. . . 24 degree. I´m standing on one of the numerous hills between Almeria and Malaga. Ten years after I visited Andalusia and especially the XXVI Expo Agro-Almeria, a business fair about agriculture and innovation in the mediterranean area, I come back to see how these projects will have developed into reality.
The region changed a lot during the last 10 year. Nearly as much as in the 15 years before, when the area had become a huge greenhouse.
They are still facing the same…
