Women in Gaza take aim at domestic violence

I´ve chosen an article about domestic violence against women in Gaza.

The article says, that there are still over 30% in the Gaza Strip that are exposed to (pysical) abuse in their homes, while there are 15% exposed to sexual abuse and nearly 75% exposed to pschological abuse, too.

The main reason for this - according to the report - is that, while the Israeli blockade halted imports and has cut jobs, the Gazan families have to survive with even less than before, which in the end…

I´ve opt to help someone kickstart their project (ok, to be honest I´ve just donated 1 $, but I think this task is more about getting experience with things like this, so everybody should be ok with that I think).

The project I´ve chosen is this one:

Celebrating a special day in the year 2020

I am coming home from work in the early evening, because it´s the 30th birthday of my wife/girlfrined and I want to take her out for dinner at first and after that our friends and parents and siblings are coming to celebrate with us.

So I´m going to park my electric car in my garage and plug it in to load it´s battery, for that reason there is a solar installation on the roof and since the efficency factor has greatly increased during the last years and the sun is shining high today, it…

World Water Day 2020 planned by me

If I have to plan the World Water Day 2020 it wouldn´t take place on a beach or near a river or lake and also the people would not get water to drink for free like mentiod by others.

As it is my task to capture the Worlds attention and I believe you can´t do that by just having fun and doing some sports and everybody celebrates the day, I think such an event has to be more rough and shocking to make the people realize what the problem is.

So I could imagine I would choose a setting…

My favourite water cleaning project is a project called "PAUL" (stands for "Portable Aqua Unit for Lifesaving" ), which was invented by Prof. Dr.-Ing. F.-B. Frechen from the University of Kasself and is kind of a waterbackpack.

Here is how it works:

There is a membrane in it, which filters more than 99.99% of bacteria and other pathogens from polluted water, so that it can be used for drinking, cooking etc. .

The main advantage of PAUL is that it´s as effective as normal…

Wow, first of all I have to admit that I´m really impressed by the idea of Jessica (and also Hugo), I´ve never thought of generating energy from playing football and think it´s pretty cool, because it combines fun and (energy) productivity and - lets be honest - what can be better than that?;-)

Anyway for this task I´ve searched the web and here is what I found:

There are several (and even german) websites with competitions or lists of social start-ups, such as…

I live in a small village near Helmstedt, Germany and happily there aren´t huge food security problems in my region, but of course there are some in Germany.

As I read a few days ago, there are nearly 3.000.000 children in Germany suffering famine and/or poverty, I was shocked as I read the article, because I´ve never thought of such a huge number of starving children in Germany, so during this task I checked some projects or organizations which already help fighting against hunger…

What am I going to eat on March 10, 2020 ?

On March 10, 2020, I´m coming home from my work in the evening and I´m feeling really good about what I´ve done today, because I worked with some of the most creative people I know on some problems most of us care about.

My wife and my children are already sitting on the table waiting for me to join them, so that we can have a nice meal together, talking about the day and just having a good time.

In 2020 I might be a vegetarian, because I´m getting sick of the way we treat animals…

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Foods are vacc** sealded for easy…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
