Bucharest, Romania - not a resilience-savvy city

After finding about my city's resilience program, i've did a mini-survey through 3 of my online contacts to see
1. If they know about any of this.
2. What do they think about my findings.

- The response for the first point of discussion was as i expected, none of them knew anything about this.
- 2/3 said that in a crisis they would call 112.
- 1/3 said that maybe there is an agency that dealt with crisis situations.
-…

Supporting women's equal opportunities and rights through increasing awareness.

For this mission i've decided that the biggest impact i could solely and fastly make to help women's equal opportunities and rights is through increasing awareness throughout my networks.

I've studied the projects promoted on Global Giving, but i couldn't decide on one to focus on, so i promoted the wh*** Global Giving initiative, on my 1800+ Facebook network.

Also, i was very impressed about the impact of 10$ can have on several projects, and i…

Trying a new currency - Facebook Credits

For this mission, i thought of trying Facebook Credits.
I bought 50 credits, the transaction went quite fast and smooth.
This makes me think about the easiness of future transactions, just like i had the insight from the "The Future of Money" article.

Virtual Currencies - a big trend

One of the big trends shaping the future of money is the virtual economy with it's virtual currencies.
As gamers, we've seen it in many games, the most popular being: Second Life, World of Warcraft.
As social networking platforms users, we've seen it in many services, the most popular being: Facebook, Hi5.

As Wikipedia writes about this, a virtual economy (or sometimes synthetic economy) is an emergent economy existing in a virtual…

Water Day 2020 - designing the show

Do you know "Gary Jules - Mad world"'s videoclip? [you can see it here]

For Water Day 2020, why not celebrating the day by gathering together and filming the water movement in nature, using the same concept like in the video above.
- It would be a fun thing to do voluntarily along with other nice people.
+
- It would be a really great video which could spread virally transporting the…

Iran's Integrated Water Scheme

Regarding water crisis, i have recently discovered a study that was performed by the IWRMO (Iran Water Resources Management ORganization) and was finalized in 2002. The main goal of this study was to find a strategy to obtain, maintain, and operate the national water resources in a manner which complies with government's sustainable development programs. This strategy should also support the survival of Iran's water resources in order to establish regional balances, secure the…

Powering my MP3 Player

I always like to sit and relax for at least half of hour before going to sleep.
So, the object i chose to alternatively power is my MP3 Player. I like to listen to some audiobooks or music before going to bed.

The actual way to power my MP3 Player:
- AAA Batteries, 1 EURO each x 2
- Life for playing: 2 weeks. [half an hour per working day]
Cost per year: 2 EUROs x 26 [52/2 weeks] = 52 EUROs/year

Producing electricity while walking

TEDx Bucharest organized a contest - "Extraordinary Ideas Contest". The 20 winners would get an invitation to the TEDx event, along 100 professionals, top of their domains.
There is where i met Cezar Ursan and we became friends.

He would later show me another invention, which helped his team win the Global Innovation Tournament.
It is a device that charges your cellphone while walking.…

In 2020

10 years is such a long period of time.
I think of me in 2010, so enthusiastic and so active :)
Now in 2020 i am wiser and more patient.

I am in the board of EduTree, a new model of education, which helps people learn in their own pace, throughout their entire life. I also help a lot of startups [especially tech startups] to kickoff.
Also, i am quite successful in doing work that narrows the gap between people and technology, for i have…

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
