Fund me/Kickstart programs

This week, I thought about a time when I used Fundly.com to finance a trip that I took to Washington, DC. I was able to host a page that allowed anyone to fund my educational trip. I was able to raise over $1000 which helped me cover travel, food, and lodging costs for the entire trip. More and more people are starting to use these programs that help them achieve their dreams. Anyone is able to view your goal/mission and if they want, they are able to donate to support your cause.…

Bitcoin

Bitcoin has become a popular mode of payment on the internet. It is open sourced and therefore does not require any bank or central network. It is less traceable and acts in a similar manner as cash. It is created and managed electronically through the network.

World Water Day 2020

I would encourage local governments to shut off access to water, forcing people to go out and find water on their own, the way millions of people around the world do everyday. This will increase awareness, ignite a spark and encourage people to get involved in solving the world water crisis.

UNICEF Water Tap

UNICEF has created a program for smartphone users to help those in need of clean water. The program involves someone going to http://tap.unicefusa.org on their phone and resist the temptation to touch their phone. For every 10 minutes you do not use or touch your phone, you will provide clean water for a child for one day. The longer you go, the more of an impact you have.

Paper power

Disney research team has invented a way to produce electricity using just paper. They have found a way to power LED lights, send a wireless signal to a PC or produce sound just by rubbing to special sheets of paper together. The technology is so thin, and responds to a number of tactile stimulations, it could potentially be used in interactive teaching materials like books, posters and more. The best part is it will last forever since there are no batteries involved. …

Feeding America

I organized a philanthropy with my fraternity that worked to raise money and food for a local food bank. It is an annual event that benefits Feeding America, an organization that works to eradicate food insecurities in America. This past event, we collected over 300 pounds of food and raised over $500. http://www.urgentevoke.com/photo/food-bank?context=user

Future Meal

I am in Florida and I am enjoying a meal with my family a local restaurant- there are no more chain restaurants in existence due to poor food quality and a move towards locally grown produce and demand for organic food. I know that my food came from local farms because the restaurant lists all of the suppliers for the food on the menu. The food was prepared in a kitchen that minimizes waste and donates left over food to homeless shelters at night. I am eating Chicken Alfredo and it tastes…

New energy

I would like to design a special shower drain that converted shower water into some sort of energy that can be used to power something in the house. Instead of being wasted water, the water would turn turbines in the drain that could be converted to power lights or subsidize your home's energy consumption. Now taking a shower would allow you to create energy instead of just wasting water.

Paper power

Disney Research has found a new way to create energy using paper. The paper responds to a number of tactile stimulations and creates enough power to light up LEDs, produce sound, and even send a wireless signal to a PC. The new technology can be used as an educational supplement in posters, books, etc. The best part is the paper does not require any batteries. …

Local food insecurity

One of the biggest problems in Alachua county is food insecurity for our youth. One program that works to combat this issue is the Food for Kids back pack program. This program works to collect food donations in local areas to send home with underprivileged students in Alachua County public schools. This allows children to have enough food for the weekend, so that they are not being malnourished until they go back to school. Advocating for this issue is crucial so that more students are able…

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
