One of us

You will never be
one of us.

You may have better education than us,
you may have better ideas than us,
you may be more skilled than us,

But you will never be
one of us.

You will never taste freedom like
one of us.

You will never feel secure like
one of us.

Three weeks without missions or quests completed

During the second week, I decided to not complete any missions for a few weeks, or quests, to see how it affected my gameplay. I also took more of a remote view on the game. Logging in now and then, writing something, commenting a bit, but mostly viewing. Reading. Registering.

Here we are, in week four. My week 2 mission where I sent an email to a few researchers failed. No reply from them.…

OPML of blogs at Evoke?

I am wondering if there are OPML files of blog feeds from Evoke agents.

The above picture is from Google Reader where you can simply import the OPML file.

I am preparing something a bit more…

Swimming through that sea of information, to foreign shores

We are swimming in a sea
no, an ocean
of information.

The question is how to swim.
How to row a boat
How to move ahead, in a direction, to foreign shores, new ways of doing things, learning from the others, truly learning, not just registering vaguely that they have a personal experience, a personal understanding based on their context.

Far too often, we condition our involvement in a network with our…

in Copenhagen

I am in Copenhagen, arrived this morning by bus from Oslo. i sort of make it a principle to avoid the use of planes when its possible. even though my friends sometimes jokingly ask me "what, is the plane too expensive?". to tell them that i do this for green reasons, and surely not for comfort (they stopped running the night train from Oslo to Copenhagen a few years ago, bummer!), works on some, while others will just counter "the plane would go anyway."

I am going to Paris…

A new ecosystem of information, inspiration and innovation.

In an email that Rahul Dewanjee sent to a few people yesterday he wrote:

"The fact that it is week 2 of EVOKE and yet I could not help but admire the massive level of new ideas in terms of what each one of us view change and see themselves as part of a new ecosystem of information, inspiration and…

Hack the attention hierarchy!

People need to hack the attention hierarchy.

Question
* Who deserves attention.
* What deserves attention.

Answer based on following parameters:
* Fame of person writing it [how well known is the person? how well known do we assume the person will be?]
* Language it is written in [a poorly expressed great idea will drown while an excellently written mediocre idea will…

You don't need to know the truth!

Following the discussion on Citizen X here and here, I will talk about how organizations like EVOKE is hiding the truth, and why Alchemy is against the Citizen X network.

Let's look at a Citizen X of today, 2010:…

How Citizen X will infiltrate us

Now, the EVOKE vs. Citizen X story is slowly unfolding, and it struck me today while talking with an AWAKE friend (off-EVOKE for security reasons):

What if Citizen X is infiltrating us? Or will do it?

"What if Citizen X is trying to divide us?" my friend asked me, and I started thinking about it.

How could Citizen X infiltrate us?
divide us?
pull our attention in certain directions, while ignoring…

Tapping the network

Tapping the network,
searching for tags,
tagging myself.
Synching my taxonomy with that of others.
Anomalies found, corrected.

Tapping the network,
seeing the flow of information,
as a river, not endless gla**** of water,
lined up
one after the other
for miles and miles.

Tapping the network
arranging information,
placing links…

LEARN2: My process - Part I

Instead of simply posting my LEARN2 after I have done my learning, I will doc**ent the process here on my EVOKE blog.

To me, the process is as relevant as the end result, if not more. Who knows, seeing the process of others may even be inspiring. At least I know that I feel inspired myself when I can feel the sincerity of the curiosity of others who are in the process. In the process of…

The green-centric approach to development

I wonder if all the 10 weeks of EVOKE will be green-centric. Be 10 stories about food, eco-village, plants, harvests, corn types, food, flowers, seeds, and - did I mention food?

Don't get me wrong: I also see the importance of these issues. But I also think that development has many other aspects.

Development also has a political side. International agreements - something which EVOKE in the two episodes of the comic seem to reject. To EVOKE,…

The alchemy of knowledge

Cook the information together,
some from here, some from there

Knowledge appears.
Look at it, inspect it. Feel it.

Then look inside your heart.
Feel the connection with the knowledge.
Visualize the information sources.
And let ___________________ appear

EVOKE to keep 50% of the profits

This part of the comic has interested me:

EVOKE is unofficial. EVOKE has resources - even a satellite.

EVOKE does things 'off the books'. EVOKE keep a 50% share in the profits.

So basically,…

Waiting for week 2

I am waiting for week 2. I didnt achieve as much as I wanted from week 1. I wanted to get to the top of the leaderboard .(I am #5). Not because I really am an attention-whore, but because I would be interested in how that would change my ARG experience. I wonder if for instance the top on the leader board gets a lot more calls for collaboration than others. I am also interested in how those collaboration ideas could be spread.

I am interested in that also because I am…

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

The meal

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Foods are vacc** sealded for easy…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
