Currently Mexico imports 42.5% of all our food. Food sovereignty is a big issue in Mexico, since our currency is weak it is important not to depend on fluctuations of our currency. If the Mexican Peso looses value against the currencies of countries that sell us foods then immediately we we have to pay much more. Local food production and food sovereignty are the solution to this problem.
