Breaking: World Bank Grows Money

April 28, 2020 - Nairobi

The World Bank is taking a new approach to financial backing. Rather than gold, silver or other precious metals, the new backing is grain. That's right, growable, harvestable food source materials. In a partnership with Global Seed Bank, the World Bank has begun distributing a new currency called the Grainote. These notes come in small enough denominations that they can be used as daily currency between the growing number of people who…

Water Crisis - Learn

Watch this TED talk by Anupam Mishra on "The ancient ingenuity of water harvesting"

It's truly amazing to see some of the large scale projects for harvesting rain water and for getting water from the dry desert. These techniques are not new (rather, they are quite ancient) but they offer some very interesting examples of how to build clean water systems for the present and future.…

Water Crisis - Imagine

The task is to build a giant rain catching water system for a new city. For those not in the prime location, a private setup will do. We will create the worlds largest rain catching waterway in a remote location in Africa, which already contains people needing clean water. This will be the foundation of a new city as people migrate in both to work on the project and to live. As people watch the beginning of the construction, instructions will be distributed for creating your own at-home rain… Continue

Power Shift - Imagine

It's July 4th, 2020. Up until now, this has been one of my least favorite holidays. Fireworks are not that impressive to me and huge crowds of people, packed into small spaces tend to make me feel uncomfortable. But today is different.

Today, they are demonstrating the newest in firework technology. No longer will the aftermath of the festivities include burned, charred ash and papers from explosives, foul fumes from scorched lycopodium and other chemicals or even injured…

Food Security - Act - Group Cooking

We've started sharing dinners with our neighbors. Almost every night we are either eating at someone else's house or they are eating at ours. The effort of cooking for 5 people is only slightly more work and expense than cooking for 3 and cooking for 8 is only a fraction more expensive and hardly more work than cooking for 5. The economic savings are exponential the more people you add to the dinner party--and the social gather gains are obvious. It's great for our 2-year-old to socialize and… Continue

Food Security - Eating Dinner in 2020

I'm in a little restaurant in Seattle with my wife and daughter. It's one of Dan Barber's new places, which serves only sustainable food, cultivated with the practices that began in Spain a decade earlier. I'm having a wasabi mango glazed fish on top of mixed vegetables that were grown in a Seattle garden. The fish came from a nearby fish farm, which not only grows fish but cleans the river water, feeds wildlife and reduces global warming. My wife is having the crab. It's a local monster,… Continue

Food Security - Learn2

One thing I love about Seattle is the local farm culture. From neighborhood pea-patches to farmer's markets to the many local fruit stands, it's easy to eat locally and think more about the source of food.

Seattle also has groups like B-Sustainable, which acts as an information dump of sustainability:…

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
