I would hope that by 2020 technology would bring the price of solar cells down and the efficiency up. Hopefully it would be in the reach of "regular" people like my family. I would like to be able to provide my energy needs without the need to be plugged into the grid.

Simple Solution
I work in a lab with lots of computers. They already go to sleep when not in use and get turned off at the end of the day. So as I looked around my work area I was trying to find something to do that would save a bit of electricity. I came up with a simple solution. Just remove every other light bulb from the hallway. Mars Hill in Maine
Here in Maine First Wind is engaged in many wind power projects. One of the first was the facility at Mars Hill. The facility has 28 GE 1.5 megawatt turbines. It is enough renewable energy to power 20,000 New England homes per year.The energy produced is also approximately 281,000 barrels of oil or 76,000 short tons of coal per year. This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal.
