this works in tandem with a lot of things that i have been discussing with people on this sight. mainly comments i have made and posts people have placed about sustainable gardening practice and gardening in general.
i have been gardening for years now. when i was young, my father was and organic farmer. really an organic farmer. sun, water, dirt and cow manure, that was the only thing you put on plants. as i got older, i tended to move a lot, so i rarely had land to call my own. i worked on designing modular growing systems, heirloom tomatoes 6 ft tall in a three gallon buckets, self contained worm and compost systems, that kind of stuff...
i still have friends who kill cacti.
so here's what we are going to be doing.
i am applying to 'the seattle free school' and am going to begin workshops there. i sign up this time next week. i will keep regular blog posts updating this, for anyone who is interested and in the area.
also, for those of you not local to seattle, i will begin a video blog series on container gardening and sustainable gardening practices. there are a few people i need to get in touch with on the EVOKE network before i start that because you all have such great ideas and valid input.
see you here!
