Hmm 2010, still seams so far away. So much is happening these days that the wh*** world seams as a huge train picking speed and is about to dive into the tunnel with the exit nowhere to be seen.
However, being optimistic, I am not that worried, so while I have no idea in which country I will be (Japan is an interesting option so I might be closer to the crisis than most would prefer) but I expect to have my PhD by that time and running either some sort of Research or My own small company and at the same time involving myself in human rights and protection of privacy. Naturally a lot can change in 10 years, but at this point these areas seem to become a major issue when our society integrates more and more into various networks and various companies pushing for legislations to protect their intellectual property while people still do not realise that it affects them directly much more often than they imagine.
Being somewhat interested in networking industries (still hard to say at this point) if I pursue this interest in the event of similar crisis I would be able to provide various services to increase awareness of the situation. But putting that aside I believe in pre-emptive measures if similar issue.
