TRON was made in 1982 and it foretold the coming of the computer. To all intents and purposes, kids are growing up in the machine, and we have not yet hit fully immersed virtuality yet. Kids care more about their games than they do about the real world; like adults care more about their work and money than the environmental impact of economics. Animals are dying, our natural world is being bleached of diversity, of life itself, and the real suffering due to economic imbalance are being lost in the suffering of anxieties closer to home. No blame can be proportioned, we all guilty.
TRON Legacy is coming out at the end of the year, and it will probably just be a money-spinner. We can do more with this.
"It's just a game" / "Not any more" -- make the decision.
There are few real opportunities, so inured are we to advertising, but this is one of them. Why? Because nobody determined this date, it has just emerged. Because it is an opportunity for us as collective individuals to marry open source, education, and business, and for all to benefit. The potential learning for us all is huge: like EVOKE,
a game within a game within a game.
