A crash course in changing the world.
In ten years, I find myself living in a tiny house somewhere in the moutains of Pennsylvania. I am very close to a river where I paddle my kayak and occasionally do some overnight camping. I am part of an intentional community of social inovators who get it right.
I spend my time during the day consulting on housing alternatives for homeless and refugee situations. Because of my age,(now 70), I do not travel as much as I would like, but I still enjoy being part of the process.
The global food crisis has not affected us too much because we grow most all of our own food. There were some hard lessons learned in the weeks following the oil crisis of 2007. We have built our community based on those lessons. It is also heartening to know that Haiti, a country almost totally destroyed 10 years ago, has rebounded and is now exporting rice to some of the hardest hit regions of the planet. Haiti's turnaround was nothing short of amazing. All it took was to get the right people in the same room at the same time. When it was realized that all of Haiti's physical problems had a solution, the country was healed in less than twenty four months.
Uh... Gotta go. President McGonigal is calling. I wonder what she wants now
