Quick Note: I had an epiphany a few days ago and couldn't write a thing on here until it got hammered out in my head. I'm sorry to those for whom English is not their best language 'cause this is going to use a lot of technical terms and complicated phrasing.
I feel my talents are being misused. Now, I don't mean used for 'evil', persay, but that the current structure of the EVOKE system has not allowed for the exercise of people who are talented in the fields of administration and network theory. As anyone with half a brain can see, the challenge/evidence system gives credit to innovators and micro-inventors who design little things to build that can solve the local problems. Now, by extension, by focusing on the smaller, more efficient designs, the game has blocked out people such as myself who are great at administrating large groups of people, ideas, resources or data due to the individualist structure of "agent-driven evidence submission".
My request is that the game incorporate some aspect where the administratively gifted individuals could hammer out innovative systems for solving problems much in the same way that their peers are designing innovative ideas. An example is in order: in a previous challenge's comic, characters constructed a windmill that provided power to a small village. This is a brilliant invention that, however, presupposes an organized network of agents (of which the frustrated woman was one) who were spreading the Evoked ideas around the planet. Also, the resources to build and utilize the generator were presumed to be on hand. So, why can't the current EVOKE system allow for agents to design methods of bringing the vast quantities of magnets and electrical wires from wherever they are to wherever they're needed?
To connect this to the current challenge, currency, I could and probably will eventually bang out a blog post about how a virtual/digital currency could unite the fractured countrysides of Africa and Asia and allow the globalization of the economy to build a sustainable market where once there was only the chaos of local demand. However, if this was to be grounded in reality, I would need to build/design a network of satellite or broadband-based banks connected to the local markets and accessible at all times. Now we're talking power, data, infrastructure, handheld electronic bank identification systems, etc. Each one of those is a separate problem more suited for the current EVOKE system but each one is, alone, nearly meaningless.
The proposed solution is that some (small number of) members gain the ability to issue private challenges similar to the public ones already in place. These 'subsection admins' would break down the main problem into detailed separate challenges as I did above, submit the idea to the public who would choose to complete or ignore any challenge as they saw fit, receive the ideas from the involved agents and weave the best ones into a coherent collection of workable solutions. The individuals could still receive the power points with, perhaps, an added bonus for the "collaboration/entrepreneurship/knowledge-share" that distributed networking implies. The heads of successful challenges could receive points proportional to the public perception of the pieces (i.e. SUM[points of parts]/10 or something like that).
In this way, individuals with particularly good ideas would be highlighted for praise due to their work in the collaborative endeavor and the 'network nerds' could involve themselves in a way the game is not currently geared for the betterment of all parties involved. People feel happier when they feel more connected to useful results. This will bring more useful results than twenty thousand people wondering how awesome micro-lending is.
What would EVOKE get out of this? A number of complete strategies built from the ground up of workable, coherent ideas formed into actionable battle plans.
I'll close with a quote from a particularly feisty artificial intelligence: "Thank you for helping us help you help us all."
