Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

A fact based world view........ what a novel concept!

If you have ever used or heard the phrase "the developing world" then I recommend that you listen to the words of Dr. Hans Rosling. Any of you who found you way here through TED.com as I did might already be familiar with the wonderful talks given by Dr. Rosling. Using a brilliant visual graphing program called gapminder, Dr. Rosling has set about to change the way in which the world views itself.

Personally, I was truly inspired the very first time I watched one of Dr. Rosling's talks on TED. Since that time I would like to believe that I have taken Dr. Rosling's vision for a fact based world view and begun to help plant the seeds for its growth. I encourage all of you to watch this profound man's talks and to ask yourself if your world view is in line with what is actually going on in the world.

I will be shadowing Dr. Rosling via his twitter feed and his TED talks. Moving forward I will be attempting to contact Dr. Rosling to further thank him for inspiring me and also to question one of the greatest thinkers in the world today.

I first discovered Dr Rosling when I watched a doc**entary in Swedish Television. I fell in love at once! The world would really be better off if policy makers adopted a more fact based world.

I admire his remarkable ability to always surprise the audience, for example when he swallowed a sword to prove that the seemingly impossible is possible. In 2005 he made a really emotional performance in a radio programme in Sweden [Swedish]. I see you don't understand Swedish, but there may be some one else who does. Your name suggest you have a Swedish heritage though, could that be?

Per-Erik, you're right in that I don't understand Swedish at all. As far as my heritage goes, my mother's side of the family is from Denmark. So, I don't know whether or not I have any direct swede heritage, but with mom's family coming from right next door it would be hard for me to imagine that I don't have at least a little swede somewhere in my bloodline. Thanks for the comment.

one love

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
