Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

A message to the future, Lessons of the past

The year is 2062, if my math is correct.
The world has undergone much change since embarking on the Evoke project so many, many years ago.
Information Communications Technology combined with the explosion of multinational mega-corporations have pressured several national unifications following the European model, and now the United Nations is considering an unprecedented One People motion, which would make patriotism and national identity obsolete in favour of a truly global model of citizenship.
There are hard-liners on both sides: Threatened with the loss of, in some cases, thousands of years of history, huge factions of citizenry around the world are re-embracing their roots, reviving age-old customs and beliefs... religion is experiencing a renaissance of a kind worldwide...
On the other hand there are billions of people prepared to accept the new proposal, which would lead to massive governing bodies overseeing regional and local levels... a politician's dream, or nightmare, depending...

I've lived a long time now, much longer than I would have since that incident in 2050, thanks to the breakthrough in nanite technology... but here is my message to you, to the world, and it's based on the experiences of an old man who's seen a lot of changes, many things come and gone, people, governments, cultures...
Be careful what you choose to hold onto.
Whether it's a person, a history or a habit, ask yourself if it's a stone that you can build a future on, or if it's a stone that will weigh you down.
Your history, your culture, they're all very real, but the part that you can hold onto are the lessons of character that you can make your own through your actions and decisions. Through the letting go, the door can be opened to the creation of a new history, with limitless possibilities, and the added bonus that you can be one to help write it, not just study it.
So make your own destiny, create an identity all your own, take action and take responsibility, not looking behind your for justification or excuses, and embrace any opportunity to be part of something big.

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
