Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

Though i've kept on reading posts on EVOKE and commenting here and there, I didn't write anything in the last few days. That's because, being seriously committed to the HOPEPHONES mission I proposed, I've choosen to take some time to further develop it and to prepare the next step, which I hope will turn (only with your help) my idea into a real EVOKE communitary mission.

For all those who still don't know what I'm talking about, just have a look at the posts tagged ACT1 and HOPEPHONES on my blog. I won't bother all the others with repetitions. I liked since the beginning the idea of taking EVOKE as an excuse (a noble excuse, I would say) to play life seriously; and I'm pretty sure many of you have a similar idea, poking your brain while you're in front of the screen, writing your posts. What I'm (almost) proud to announce you today, is an HOPEPHONES map I developed to let EVOKE users sign up and become part of a collective effort. Here's the link (I would have been happy to include it here, but I guess it is not allowed by the platform EVOKE is based on):

So, what should you do with that?

First of all, just consider how much you care for your health. Then ask yourself if there's only one reason in this world, which could justify any other human being deprived of it. Ask yourself what are the fundamental human rights, which every single person should have granted, and if health is among those. I do believe it is the very first one.

I'll skip the passage where I ask you to think about the possible connections which could exist between the wealthy countries' standard of living and that of the developing ones. I'll skip that part because here we don't want to start building on the sense of guilt.

Instead, we want to have ideas and actions sprouting out from positive will, from VISION, INITIATIVE, RESOURCEFULNESS, CREATIVITY, COLLABORATION and COURAGE.
If you agree with that, if you really feel that acting in first person is worthing much more than a bunch of points, then go check where did you left your old mobile phone, ask your relatives, your friends, your colleagues; tell them it is for a good cause.
Collect as many pieces you can, sign up to the map, locate yourself. This way we'll be able to optimize collection, to act efficiently, as a single intelligence with thousands of hands. I'm not saying you'll save the world like that, but it's a good training.
I'm not a professional, as a programmer, then if something goes wrong while signing up don't give up, just let me know by comment or message: I'll fix any bug as soon as possible.

If you don't feel too motivated, think if it was Alchemy asking you that. Would you do it? Would you be proud of doing it, going around and saying how ethical is the game you're playing at? Would you do it more for the points than for the deep sense EVOKE has beyond its playful facade?

Please, please, please, give me a sign that I'm not the only one who really believes in community action.
Talking about smart things, getting more and more knowledge, having our ideas spreaded, and discussed, and developed, it's all great. But it is nothing compared to the huge sense of communion and pride, that you feel when you're able to help somebody, and you're doing it with others.

I trust EVOKE and you all. Please, show me that I'm right.

No problem MAK and, yes, it's me :)
I changed my picture and screen name for more than one reason, but mostly because I find them more appropriate to my new JUSTAGAME philosophy.

Thanks again for your efforts and good will. I do appreciate so much people doing, beyond speaking.
I'd ask you to let me know where did you place collection boxes, to keep track of those places on my map and to let Josh know. I guess he'll be happy to hear this.

Again, you're just great

Neither MoE or Stefano know hate; but (it might sound unfair) they know indifference.
Both share love with plenty of enthusiasm; they just want to be sure to address it towards the right directions. You are in one of the right directions :)

@Sarah : sorry, I didn't see your comment and submitted mine before thanking you. Also, I gave you my +1 COLLABORATION
I hope other agents will appreciate your good will and do the same.

So we have two Connection Bridge Agents now, cool. I'll soon update your icons on the map.

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
