Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

I have never had any big heroes or role models. If I needed to pick someone it would be probably my uncle or grandfather. But in this case I chose someone who I'm keeping eye on at the moment. I usually have many people who have caught my eye and who need support for their ideas.

Lately I have been watching videos from www.ted.com and there are a lot of great ideas and awesome people who deserve credit. And from there I found also the hero I am going to talk about.

His name is Larry Brilliant. Larry was one of a four people who were in charge of eradicating smallpox in India and South Asia. He also used to be executive director of Google.org. He has been connected with many other organizations and done lot of work helping many people all over the world. He is one of the co-founders and chairman of Seva Foundation which has given sight back to lot of people. For me one of the most interesting parts of his life was when he spent several years in Himalayas studying and living, as this is one of the things that I would like to do also. In a way it shows that it is possible to be spiritually balanced and also be successful, meaning helping people and doing what you like.

I don't use Twitter, but he does.

Also I found one of his latest articles in which he is talking about denominators of global threats: Fortune

I'm sure he will succeed helping many more people and doing lot of great things. Someone to look up to. Real hero.

You are welcome Michele, it really is a good site and there's tons of information about everything and probably anyone could find talks about topics they like. Good thing is that more is coming constantly.
And to Luuk, the same thing happened to me too :) I learned about Evoke from there.

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
