ACT1: Roger Schank to shadow as my #EVOKE hero
I am a teacher and I belive Education is the key to a better world, so I have chosen an educator for this mission. Roger Schank is president and CEO of Socratic Arts, and is a leading visionary in artificial intelligence. In conjunction with Barcelona's La Salle University, Schank created the Institute for the Learning Sciences.
Roger Schank tries to turn the wh*** educational system inside out. Moreover, he claims that schools as we know them should dissapear. The system doesn't work, kids are unhappy in the schools, they don't learn useful things, don't reach their potencials, and therefore our society gets poorer and poorer.
His vision is that memorisation doesn't work (exams are just a trick to mantein this stupid system), you only learn things by doing them, i.e. learning by doing method/aprender haciendo.
"Internet is the potencial saver of the world in education", he says, and I totally agree. "The bad new is that it hasn't been used properly yet". The following article was kind of controversial in Spain
"El 'e-learning' actual es la misma basura, pero en diferente sitio" (e-learning is the same trash, just in a different place)
To follow him you can subscribe to his home page, blog Education Outrage or to his company's website, Socratic Arts. After a little bit more investigation, his email address, but I haven't found him on Twitter or Facebook (is someone does, please let me know)

Great to have you on board, and great to see another education-interested person here on EVOKE! There are quite a few other teachers too, and in fact a few of us interested in education have started to look at ways to get other teachers involved. How do you think EVOKE can be used within a class-room setting?
